Job Description and Requirements

Scope and Objectives

Kaizen is seeking a Process Improvement Coordinator to support the four-year USAID/Jordan Enhancing School Management and Planning (ESMP) Project. The ESMP Project objective is to develop sustainable system and process improvements related to school planning, design, construction, and maintenance, and enhance the staff capabilities within Jordan’s Ministries of Education (MOE) and Public Works and Housing (MPWH) to improve the school management and planning process, and the quality of school environments in Jordan. The scope of this project is to provide assessment expertise, technical assistance, capacity building, collaboration facilitation, and training to MOE, MPWH, targeted stakeholders, and counterparts engaged in school management and planning to improve performance and sustain these improvements.

Kaizen will hire a Process Improvement Officer with the following key responsibilities and required qualifications for the full-time position.

This position is located in Amman, Jordan.

Position Summary

The Process Improvement Coordinator will support the advancement of systems and business process re-design within the Jordan Ministries of Education (MOE) and Public Works and Housing (MPWH) to improve operations and outcomes. The Process Improvement Coordinator will work closely with key stakeholders to determine how processes can be delivered in a more efficient manner.

Expected responsibilities include:

  • Analyze existing processes related to school management and planning at MOE and MPWH and identify areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to data collection and requirements analysis
  • Assist in the development and implementation of improvement plans.
  • Carry out benchmarking across the public sector and identification of best practices.
  • support developing the processes and procedures that are efficient, fit for purpose and most importantly compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support obtaining the official sign-off from key stakeholders and ensuring that recommendations in the improvement plan have been realized.
  • Monitor and report on progress of improvement initiatives while also identifying barriers and risks and developing effective solutions.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business, management, public administration, or a related field; master's degree is preferred
  • 0-3 years of experience in activities related to process improvement and change management.
  • Experience with Visio and MS Project
  • Knowledge of Jordanian by-laws and regulations
  • Experience facilitating change management activities
  • Experience writing reports, presentations, and training materials
  • Analytical skills
  • Effective cross-cultural interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English and Arabic
