The Near East Foundation (NEF) is seeking candidates for a Program Support Assistant to be based in Jordan office in Amman. For over 100 years, the Near East Foundation (NEF) has worked to build more sustainable, prosperous, and inclusive communities in the Middle East, Caucasus, and Africa through education, governance, and economic development initiatives. Working through a network of country offices and local partners, NEF has operations in ten countries: Armenia, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Mali, Morocco, Palestine, Sudan, South Sudan, and Syria. Its programs are organized around three themes: Inclusive Economic Development, Climate-resilient Development, and Stabilization and Peacebuilding.
Position Description
The Program Support Assistant is a member of the Near East Foundation team in Jordan office, reporting to the Program Manager. The purpose of the Program Support Assistant is to ensure all program responsibilities are performed to the highest standards and according to donor and NEF guidelines. The post-holder also assumes communication and visibility responsibilities for the program operation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assess and anticipate procurement needs for the Syria Project in accordance with NEF policies and procedures;
- Support the implementation of the civil-based association multiyear strategy,
- Support the Siraj Managers in documenting all contracts and/or purchase orders, claims…etc. as per NEF and donor procedures and uploaded them on the financial systems,
- Organize and oversee all special logistic preparation of the capacity building activities as, and when the situation arises,
- Conduct Institutional Needs Assessment (INA), and assist in the development of capacity building plans in close collaboration with other team members;
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of the collected and stored data as required by NEF MEL team;
- Support in the project statistical analysis (using excel or equivalent tool) for impact assessments;
- Contribute to the program learning activities and analysis;
- Perform other relevant duties as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements:
The successful candidate must be a self-directed individual with the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or Project Management or related field.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in NGO.
- Knowledge and previous working experience within the Syrian context especially in North Syria will be an asset.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent in written and oral English and Arabic;

- Able to read and analyze documents, and communicate with others as necessary to perform job duties effectively;
- Requires solid written and verbal communication skills;
- Good interpersonal and cultural sensitivity skills;
