Livelihoods Project Coordinator
ABOUT RI: Relief International specializes in relief and development programs that benefit people in acute distress. A registered non-profit in the US, UK, France, and Belgium, our work targets those fragile countries or communities that suffer from recurrent man-made or natural crises that impede human development. The people that we serve live in seventeen countries across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia where the debilitating effects of political instability, forced displacement, and natural disasters are pervasive. Often, RI is the only organization providing healthcare, education, logistics, energy, capacity building, economic development, sanitation, and many other forms of assistance to these highly vulnerable communities.
Position Summary:
The Livelihoods Project Coordinator is a key position within the Project’s structure at Relief International. The coordinator is responsible for (a) the day-to-day implementation of RI’s Livelihoods project in Azraq and Zaatari (b) liaising with local actors, (c) contributing to coordination platforms in targeted areas (d) ensuring implementation of activities in accordance with agreed-upon work plan, (e) advising Project Manager about challenges faced in the field, and (f) contributing to donor and internal reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the primary point of contact to supervise and monitor field activities of the livelihoods team; Ensure effective and efficient day-to-day implementation of project plans.
- Responsible for coordinating, consolidating, and ensuring smooth implementation of project and operations activities, in adherence to logistics, human resource, administration, and security procedures.
- Actively assist the Livelihoods Line supervisor in planning, implementing, and monitoring project activities to meet project deliverables based on the timeline and scope agreed with the donor.
- Provide direction and monitor staff in their implementation of work plans and quality of technical activities.
- Work closely with RI’s MEAL focal point to facilitate surveys and monitor visits relevant for program quality and implementation.
- Liaise with key external stakeholders, including but not limited to, vocational training centers, private sector, other relevant stakeholders, and program participant communities to ensure successful deliverables.
- Facilitate visits to project implementation sites for internal and external stakeholders, donors, and any other external stakeholders.
- Work closely with the local organization working on this project.
- Work with the Supply Chain departments to ensure timely and efficient delivery of project materials/documents to stakeholders and beneficiaries.
- Act as the focal person for project documentation, ensuring that all project-related data is properly collected and stored in the relevant system.
- Responsible for keeping the Line supervisor well-informed about developments and emerging issues related to the implementation of the program.
- Contribute to donor and internal reporting, including success stories.
- Participate actively in internal project meetings as scheduled, coming prepared to the meeting to maximize usefulness for project implementation.
Work Coordination: Internal direct reporting, dotted line work coordination, and external coordination:
- The Job Holder reports directly to the Line supervisor.
- Under the supervision of the Line supervisor, the Job Holder should coordinate closely with internal support departments: Operations, HR, and Finance to ensure accurate resource allocation and planning.
- Span of Control & Decision Making:
- The Job Holder should take decisions related to the accountabilities outlined above seeking approval/ coordination from the line supervisor as appropriate. Any decision beyond her/his realm or responsibility should be discussed with the line supervisor.
Working Conditions / Operating Environment
The Job Holder will be working from RI’s Amman Office ; however, a significant amount of time will be required in external meetings and working from Azraq and Zaatari camps
