1. Background
Project background
Oxfam in partnership with GGGI are implementing a project in Za’atari Refugee Camp and in the hosting communities in Mafraq aimed at piloting a circular economy model where resource efficiency can be achieved at the household and community levels.
The project will target 1,000 households in Za’atari Refugee Camp and 200 households in the hosting communities in Mafraq. These households will be participating in a pilot scheme whereby organic waste will be collected and compost will be produced and where greywater will be extracted. Both resources will be used to test the effectiveness of resource efficiency and resource use within these communities.
