The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Regional Food Fortification Advisor at the WFP Regional Bureau, Bangkok (RBB). The incumbent will benefit from technical guidance from the RBB OIM / KM Focal Point, and will have the following roles and responsibilities:
1) Support KM content creation and sharing:
• Develop knowledge products and syntheses on LSFF, including lessons learned and best practices for government, private sector stakeholders, and donors.
• Develop a strategy for managing knowledge, information and learning related to the program including identifying the sources of knowledge, the methods for capturing and storing knowledge, and the mechanisms for sharing knowledge.
• Prepare talking points, briefings, PowerPoint presentations, and reports for management, inter-agency opportunities, and donor-related activities.
2) Provide KM technical guidance and direct support to the country office:
• Provide direct support, as required, to country offices to design and produce knowledge management products.
• Align internal products with existing KM platforms, tools, style guidance, while raising awareness about LSFF at the country offices level (such as Sharepoint, interactivendashboards, other online platforms, and static products);
• Leveraging existing operational information, M&E data, and evidence, and packaging donor reporting, evidence, publications, data analysis, and visualization, as well as systems and solutions for Country Office perusal.
3) Drive KM strategy and dissemination:
• Regularly track and analyze the portfolio of evidence products to assess gaps, obstacles, and opportunities in the evidence pipeline.
• Support, from the technical point of view, the development of a country office knowledge management strategy for LSFF in line with country office, government, and partner priorities. This should include a submission of the manuscript to a peer reviewed journal and a dissemination strategy.
• Implement the dissemination strategy of key knowledge products, (for example, through events, webinars, and brown-bag presentations).
• Facilitate sharing knowledge and information among the program team, stakeholders, and partners. Support the team to organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions to promote knowledge sharing.
4) Collaborate with stakeholders to advance knowledge management initiatives:
• Embed knowledge management in job responsibilities around the organization.
• Liaise with and support other KM focal points, including maintaining a roster of knowledge management topic focal points and regional KM Coordinators.
• Develop standardized onboarding training for key leadership positions.
• Collaborate with and contribute inputs to the Regional Evidence and Knowledge Management Working Group, including updating information on evidence schedules and calendars.
5) Support the RBB Nutrition Team on other knowledge management initiatives as needed (not necessarily fortification-only related).
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
• A master’s degree in business, communications, international development, or a related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
• At least 6 years of progressively responsible international experience in knowledge management, reporting, research, or analysis roles.
KEY COMPETENCIES
1) Experience in research, analytical, or KM capacities within a global organization is required.
2) Experience working developing knowledge products for countries in South Asia particularly Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh will be an asset.
3) Understanding and experience developing knowledge products on Food Security and Nutrition programs would be an asset.
4) Strong conceptual thinking to develop new communication strategies and coordinate projects.
5) Ability to produce high-quality written materials, design products, visualizations, and graphics.
6) Understanding of knowledge management principles and capacity to deliver knowledge management and/or organizational learning activities.
7) Ability to interact with leaders and external audiences with maturity and tact.
8) Collaborative spirit able to liaise with a wide range of people at all levels and across different cultures and to act with credibility and diplomacy
9) Strong time management skills with an ability to plan, and anticipate requirements, problems, and obstacles, and an ability to juggle competing priorities successfully, and to work to tight deadlines.
10) Self-motivated and able to work with a high degree of autonomy.
11) Fully committed and motivated to achieve the aims of the UN World Food Programme.
12) Willing to work in and travel to different field locations and challenging operating environments.

JOB PURPOSE
Knowledge management is a critical aspect of any large-scale food fortification program. The success of such a program depends on the effective management of knowledge and information. WFP is seeking to hire a Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist to effectively manage the knowledge and information related to the Large-Scale Food Fortification project in Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh program. In addition, the KM specialist will also support the management of the knowledge management activities related to large-scale food fortification in the Asia Pacific region.
