Partnerships Coordinator-Agriculture

JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of this contract is to provide the USAID/Jordan Mission with technical assistance services and related support to accomplish the objective of the Water Efficiency and Conservation Activity (WEC), a five-year project. The objective of the Water Efficiency and Conservation Activity (“the Activity”) is to increase water use efficiency and conservation in Jordan by applying commercial incentives to the agriculture, industrial, and the municipal sectors and strengthening the Government of Jordan (GOJ) governance over irrigated agriculture.
Under the supervision of the Strategic Partnerships Lead, the focus of this role is to support establishment of lasting commercial partnerships that result in increased demand and dissemination of water conservation technologies and practices to Jordan’s irrigated agricultural sector.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
• Apply the Cost-Benift Analysis tool on the existing and potential WSTs and provide recommendations on the best conservation techniques and technologies to be supported by the activity.
• Apply the Business Capacity Assessment tool to identify partner businesses and determine the potential collaboration and cooperation opportunities. In addition, provide recommendations for the busenesses growth strategy of partner firms.
• Work closely with partner WSTs suppliers to identify, assess and introduce innovative WSTs to the local market.
• Coordinate with all stakeholders to organize activites relevant to WSTs promotion, these include but not limited to: Trainings, Meetings, workshops etc…
• Identify and work with other relevant actors in the supply chain whose inclusion will support enhanced delivery of WST solutions. This may include providers of financial services and any other relevant service which facilitates an increased supply of WSTs.
• Work with suppliers of water conservation technologies, related service providers, farmers and all value chain actors to strengthen the commercial partnerships.
• Identify succeful business models that can be replicated in different places for greater impacts.
• Participate in the technical assessment of the grants application and provide technical assistance and follow up for the grantees.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of the delivery of Agricultural Extension Department training on WST demonstration site facilitation and farmer training methods.
• Provide content for the relevant communication materials

Job Description and Specifications
QUALIFICATIONS: (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)
EDUCATION:
A Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, water management or relevant technical area.
WORK EXPERIENCE: • At least three years of experience working with the private sector to develop public-private partnerships, leverage resources, and promote private-sector driven growth, • Experience providing advisory, mentoring, and capacity building services to farmers to promote the adoption of water saving technologies • Familiarity with agriculture and irrigation water issues in Jordan
SKILLS: • Strong analytical and relationship building skills, including ability to work in partnership with private service providers, irrigation companies and government institutions as appropriate • Ability to negotiate, advise and support conclusion of commercial partnerships • Ability to communicate effectively with persons and organizations on all levels relevant to the water sector. • Strong written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write required documents in a clear, concise, well-organized manner in both English and Arabic • Ability to travel within Jordan as needed • Team player and able to work independently.
LANGUAGES:
Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
GENERAL:
• Must be computer literate (in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team. Must also be able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience delivering services in Jordan, working successfully within a team environment.
