Main Function:
Implementation of plans and programs aimed at achieving the objectives and policies of the Department.
Responsibilities:
The Communications and International Cooperation Officer will be responsible for the following key tasks:
- Work to develop and support cooperation relations with American donors to provide financial and technical support for development projects through setting appropriate plans and programs.
- Informing those concerned about the availability of aid programs provided by the American authorities, so all the necessary procedures are followed to receive all funding requests from the concerned institutions.
- Studying the funding requests received with the aim of determining their compatibility with the American funding approach, proposing their priorities, and working on submitting recommendations regarding them.
- Participate in the preparation of the negotiation rounds with the representative of the American funding agency to determine and approve the aid program and participate in these rounds if he is a member of a committee representing the concerned institutions and follow up on the implementation of the decisions taken in these meetings.
- Receiving draft agreements from the American donors and sending them to the concerned institutions, negotiating them, and following up the necessary procedures until receiving the final agreement.
- Arranging procedures for signing agreements and supervising the preparation of official documents and legal procedures necessary to put agreements into practice.
- Addressing the American donors regarding the visits of funding sources missions, according to the arrangements prepared by the concerned institutions, attending meetings with them if necessary and following up the implementation of the procedures resulting from these meetings.
- Work to solve problems with US funding agencies and remove obstacles that may hinder aid programs, in coordination and cooperation with the relevant institutions with representatives of US donors.
- Preparing reports on the economic and technical relationship between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the American donors.
- Follow up on the implementation of commitments and pledges resulting from the implementation of funding agreements signed with US donors.
- Providing commodity loans to provide one of the commodities in the Jordanian market and following up all the necessary procedures until reaching the final agreement for the commodity loan.
Qualifications:
-First university degree in International Relations, Business Administration, Economics, or Development Studies. |
-Six years minimum experience in a similar field. |
-Bilingual (Arabic/English) with excellent proficiency is a must. |
-Technical writing reporting, planning and time management skills are essential. |
-Knowledge of development policies and agreements and Jordanian government directions. |
-Knowledge of the foundations of international cooperation in the field of loans, grants and aid. |
-Knowledge of US donor development priorities. |
-Knowledge of laws, regulations and legislation governing work. |
