Logistics Coordinator-Nationals Only

The primary objective of the Logistic Coordinator is to offer daily guidance and direction in the execution of all logistics operations within the Camps Area. The Logistic Coordinator will actively assist the logistics team stationed in the field to ensure adherence to the guidelines set forth by NRC and donors while assuming responsibility for overseeing all logistical activities carried out in the NRC Camps Area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Role and responsibilities

The purpose of a Logistic Coordinator is to implement delegated areas of logistic responsibility and deliver a variety of procurement and other logistics-related activities, including management of the warehouse, fleet, distribution, and assets.

Generic responsibilities

These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. Details belong in the Work and Development plan.

  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, SoP’s, and donor requirements.
  • Implement NRC’s logistic systems and procedures at the area level.
  • Coordinate timely operational planning and management of logistic activities.
  • Ensure that local SoP’s regulate procedures at the field office level and perform periodic checks.
  • Coordinate market assessment within the scope and request of programme/project developers
  • Prepare and submit reports and analyses.
  • Ensure proper filing of all support documents.
  • Support line managers in procedures and require support team training related to logistics.
  • Line management of the logistic team including recruitment and performance management
  • Provide anti-corruption, transparency, and cost-efficiency focus in all processes (e.g. in procurement, vehicle management, asset management)
  • Ensure safe and efficient transport of staff and materials/goods.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned by the line manager.

Specific responsibilities

These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus, and type of intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly. Examples of responsibility to add are described in the overview of NRC Logistic support roles.

  • Coordinate and manage the supply and logistics support for operations within the camps and including requisitioning, receiving, storing, issuing, and delivering goods.
  • Manage ongoing local procurement and explore the options to further expand the potential procurement opportunities in the vicinities of the area of support.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage transportation of materials in support of the operation in the camps (including managing camp permits).
  • Manage, implement/maintain, and follow NRC standard warehousing practices and supervise Warehouse staff in record keeping to full audit standard.
  • Provide training for line managers with logistics responsibilities, particularly in procurement procedures, fleet, and stock management requirements.
  • Work with the NRC Jordan security department to explore and implement routines to better track the whereabouts at any one time of NRC vehicles.
  • Checking and approving the monthly logistics report, spot checks to verify work quality, and promoting cost efficiency measures/ideas.
  • Manage asset management activities, including tracking and maintaining inventory records, ensuring proper storage, and handling of assets, conducting regular audits, and managing the disposal of any expired or damaged assets.

  • Staff: 2 Team Leaders, 2 officers, 2 technical assistants, 40 drivers & 7 IBV+.

  • Experience working as a Logistic Coordinator in a humanitarian/recovery context.

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Valid driver’s license

Context-related skills, knowledge, and experience:

Context-related competencies are the knowledge, skills, and experience required because of the context, location, and/or current priorities in the role.

  • Knowledge of the context in Jordan.
  • Experience and ability to train others, facilitate workshops and transfer knowledge.
  • Ability and readiness to spend significant periods working out of the NRC field offices.
