FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position Senior M&E Specialist for the USAID/ Jordan Community Health and Nutrition Project. The Community Health and Nutrition Project aims to improve the nutritional status of pregnant and lactating women and children under the age of two in three target governorates in Jordan. The project seeks to support child and maternal health and nutrition by improving breastfeeding practices, introducing appropriate complementary foods at the right time, and ensuring appropriate child spacing through postpartum family planning and continued adoption of modern forms of contraception. The Senior M&E Specialist will be based in Amman, Jordan, and will be reporting directly to the Chief of Party.
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior M&E Specialist will play a key role in M&E processes according to CHN’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan (MEL) and plans of implementing partners and grantees. Specific duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by the Senior M&E Specialist are as follows:
- Work closely with CHN program management staff and partner M&E staff including grantees on all aspects of data collection and analysis. This includes developing data collection tools, field monitoring of data collection, data entry, data verification checking and quality assurance, data analysis and reporting.
- Oversee the preparation of ongoing monitoring reports for high level indicators across the project’s Intermediate results as well as internal project performance indicators in different formats including USAID’s Dev Results and GIS reporting.
- Ensure project activities are on track with workplans and relevant targets and utilize evidence generated to identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with the Strategic Initiatives advisor on all aspects related to the Collaboration, Learning and Adaptation (CLA) component of the project.
- Supervise the development and revision of key MEL documents to ensure adequate resource and reference documentation and provide oversight of M&E folders on the share point and USAID’s Knowledge Management Portal (KaMP).
- Under the guidance of the project’s COP, serve as the liaison with internal and external partners to ensure effective collaboration.
- Any other M&E tasks as per the project needs.
Minimum Requirements:
- A Master’s degree in public health, statistics or other relevant social sciences field.
- At least 5 years of working in health or development projects on monitoring and evaluation with increasing levels of responsibility. USAID experience is preferable.
- Demonstrated ability to articulate technical information and data clearly and effectively and in flexible and adaptive programming.
- Proven written and oral presentation skills in both Arabic and English.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate positively with a variety of project staff and stakeholders.
- Flexibility, enthusiasm and initiative to take on tasks and produce results.
- Demonstrated expertise in ‘excel’ is required. Proficiency with statistical software packages used for data analysis, such as SPSS, STATA is desirable.
