War Child Holland is looking for a:
Child Protection and Safeguarding Advisor, Syria and Jordan Response Programmes Based in Amman, Jordan (National Contract)
Objective of the Job:
The Child Protection (CP) and Safeguarding Advisor is responsible for the development, coordination and mainstreaming of child protection programming for the Syria response. They will also develop child protection competencies of staff within the WCH Syria programme and local partners, including Child Safeguarding, PSEA, and Child Safety.
The CP Advisor provides technical guidance to support the implementation of child protection activities across projects, supports the development of concept notes and proposals, plays a key role in monitoring the quality of projects, and works collaboratively with the regional and global advisors to ensure projects align with WCH thematic strategies and organisational ambitions.
This position is stationed in the Syria Response office in Amman, Jordan with regular trips in the region to visit the project sites and attend relevant meetings/conferences (roughly 30% of the time).
Your Challenge
The CP Advisor is supported and coached by the Middle East Regional CP Advisor in all technical areas and works with them and others in the Global Programme Quality team to share best practices, promote internal professional development in teams and identify areas for strengthening CP programming at a country-level, regionally and globally where applicable. They will work closely with the Project Managers, partner focal points, and regional CP colleagues.
The post-holder will directly manage CP Coordinators and Officers (where applicable). S/he will be responsible for their development and supervision of CP technical activities, with the opportunity to build out the team as needed.
