KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Regional Communication Officer, the incumbent is expected to:
- Provide guidance and support to country offices in Asia and the Pacific to effectively implement their communication strategies and workplans, and support advocacy, donor relations and fundraising efforts.
- Prepare, gather, package and disseminate communication products in line with global narratives and guidelines.
- Generate and/or facilitate the production of donor specific visibility content including, text, photos, videos and audio for use across a range of integrated online platforms, in order to support global and country fundraising activities, ensuring consistency with corporate messages.
- Manage RBB social media account through day-to-day maintenance, including content creation and curation in collaboration with HQ and country offices.
- Track and analyze traditional and online media, to mitigate and manage reputational risks, and inform the development and evaluation of communication activities.
- Identify and engage with the media as required, to support regional and country communication objectives.
- In collaboration with HQ, build capacity of WFP country office communication staff on all aspects of external relations communication, providing advice, guidance and training to ensure consistent, quality communications activities that deliver the desired impact.
- Deploy to WFP emergency and other operations in the region as required.
- Provide backup to Regional Communication Officer.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in communication, advocacy, marketing, fundraising or other related fields.
Knowledge & skills:
- Knowledge of latest communication developments and trends, strategy design and implementation, writing, editing, content gathering, social media, media, etc.
Education:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in journalism, International Relations, Public Relations, Communications or other relevant field. Master’s Degree is desirable.
Essential:
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; understanding of a wide range of communication tools and channels and how to use them effectively; experience with social media monitoring and analytical tools; experience in media and influencer engagement; ability to work under tight timelines with limited supervision and build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
