Data Engineer
Requirements
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.
- Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Process-oriented with great documentation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service.
- Hands-on experience in Python, and knowledge in Data Science popular libraries like PyTorch and Tensorflow is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in popular databases, PostgreSQL and MongoDB. Knowledge of geospatial and time-series DBs like InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, and PostGIS is a plus.
- Great understanding of dockerization and common practices in the DevOps realm.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Great understanding of messaging broker concept, Experience in RabbitMQ and/or Redis is a plus.
- Good knowledge of task scheduling techniques, and hands-on experience with tools like Celery is a plus.
- Experience with big data tools like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc. is desirable.
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools like Airflow is desirable.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Python or other.
- 3+ years of SQL and NoSQL experience.
- 3+ years of experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling.
- Experience with other programming languages like JavaScript (NodeJs) and Java is a huge advantage.
- Ability in managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems.
- Experience working with either a Map Reduce or an MPP system on any size/scale.
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
