Worley is currently looking for an experienced Senior Civil Structural Engineer to be part of our team on a project in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Duties and Responsibilities:
.To be responsible from inception through to completion of civil and structural engineering solutions and give engineering support to other disciplines on information obtained from the field.
.To Prepare design calculations, sketches and reports for the production of detailed drawings, the development of quantities, materials lists and cost estimates as required
.Perform complex engineering tasks efficiently and accurately. Tasks may involve modeling, designing, reviewing and checking of major structures, foundations and underground services.
.Check designs and guide junior engineers, designers, and draftsmen on technical matters.
.Assist in the preparation of technical details for quotations, contract documentation and technical specifications
.Has a good understanding of project planning, scheduling, design, constructability, interfacing and risk management processes.
.provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities. For example, write engineering requisitions and conduct technical bid evaluations
.Lead the design, coordination, and integration of non-process infrastructure and utilities across a range of projects and different contractual types.
.Liaise with suppliers, clients, consultants or commissioning engineers in the design, installation or construction and commissioning of assigned work
.Demonstrable commitment to HSE management in a project environment
.Able to carry out tasks with minimal supervision
.Motivated individual with potential to grow to technical leadership
.Familiarity with applicable codes and standards both national and international i.e. (ACI, AISC, API, ASTM, AASHTO, BS, UBC/IBC, etc.)
.Previous experience in supervising junior engineers and technical staff preferable
.Good written and communication skills and able to work in a team environment
.To ensure all work carried out under his control conforms with codes and practices in accordance with the project requirements and meets all requirements of the contracts specification and ensure all work is carried out within agreed schedules, budgets and procedures
.Liaise with members of other disciplines and departments in the design process as required to finalise his designs
.Prepares material take-offs/Bills of Quantities (MTOs/BoQ) for his workscope as directed by supervising staff
.Provides input to the Civil/Structural Scope of Work narratives for construction scope definition as required by project needs
.Preparation of Calculations and Philosophies including checking of others work including that of designers.Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
.Will hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable University or equivalent
.Will preferably be a Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
.Membership of a reputable Engineering Institution is an advantage, but not essential.
.Will have a minimum of TEN (10) years of experience with at least 5 years in mining, process and associated facilities
.Will have sound theoretical and practical knowledge of engineering principles.
IT SKILLS
.Competent use of civil and structural engineering specific software like STAAD Pro, SACS, MathCad, PCAMAT, PCACOL, Dyna 5 and Plaxis
.Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite
. Be conversant with Smartplant software and 3D model review software like Navisworks
. User or knowledge in using AutoCad and Microstation software is preferable, but not essential
