Driver
- POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Driver main responsibilities are driving and maintaining project vehicles and assisting the MSP project. The Driver will also assist with administrative and logistical requirements as needed, including event management and other administrative tasks.
- KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive project vehicles daily as assigned and/or pre-approved by the supervisor, including routine shuttle service runs, scheduled field trips, project-related transportation within Amman, and other driving assignments as required.
- Clean assigned vehicles daily both inside and out.
- Check assigned vehicles weekly to ensure that they are operational and safe to drive, including oil, radiator, fan belt, brake fluids, wipers, tires, lights, and signals.
- Initiate and supervise any repairs required on assigned vehicles with supervisor’s approval.
- Initiate and supervise routine periodic maintenance of assigned project vehicles, including oil and filter changes, tune-ups, and professional cleaning by high-pressure hose based on the manufacturer’s instructions on optimum maintenance requirements.
- Fulfill project reporting requirements and maintain accurate and complete records, including vehicle, fuel, and maintenance logs.
- Ensure passenger safety by obeying traffic laws, using seatbelts, and driving carefully.
- Expedite any project requests necessary to facilitate the running of the office.
- Provide logistical support and support to activities as requested.
- Assisting in the loading and unloading of program supplies as needed.
- Receiving, storing (protecting), dispatching and accounting for Office materials.
- Move office furniture as needed.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- At least two years of work experience in driving, preferably on a USAID project or other donor-funded projects in Jordan.
- Experience driving within different regions across Jordan.
- Experience driving different types of vehicles including sedans, SUVs, and vans, in various road conditions.
- Public driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Understanding of auto mechanics is required.
- Capable of communicating in both Arabic and English.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel applications preferred.
