DIVISION PURPOSE: To work with others to find lasting solutions to poverty and suffering

TEAM PURPOSE: To ensure Oxfam has the Logistics capacity to develop and deliver high quality programmes in Jordan

JOB PURPOSE: To provide logistics support, contributing to the effective delivery of the Country programme and enhancing the organisation’s performance through our people .

DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE

  • Tasks are routine with well-defined targets and/or minimum standards, but requires flexibility and common sense in making necessary adjustments to suit individual circumstances
  • Collect, analyse and provide information to other staff .
  • Manage small , medium and large procurements .
  • Work closely with the program staff to facilitate transparent flows of information, as well as to ensure accountability of on-time delivery of goods and services

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To gather quotations and be accountable for ensuring such processes are conducted according donors and Oxfam policies.
  • To carry out procurement of items based on authorised requisitions, in line with Oxfam procedures.
  • To ensure that your activities are carried out according to Oxfam logistics, purchasing and supply policy.
  • To ensure continued good relations with suppliers, that Supplier Relationship Management is maintained at all times and that Service Level Agreements are accurately monitored and reported on.
  • Ensure best quality/value solutions are sought for all procured items.
  • To ensure that suppliers provide proper documentation for goods and services provided to Oxfam.
  • To ensure that all transactions are carried out in a transparent, fair and accountable manner.
  • Manage all logistics files and archiving systems.
  • Prepare report on logistics when it is needed.
  • Carry out tasks within guidelines laid down by line manager.
  • Submit payments and ensure the payments carried out according to Oxfam procedures.

Essentials
For this role, you will need to model Oxfam’s feminist leadership approach so we have selected the most relevant feminist leadership practices which we will use for assessment purposes (which you can read more about here):

  • Batch degree with logistics or any related filed

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in Logistics and procurement in INGO .
  • Self-Awareness
  • Attention to detail and excellent numeric accuracy.
  • Proven ability to manage competing tasks and to prioritise and produce high level output consistently.
  • Preferable camp experience .
  • Experience using procurement system/ software .

In addition, an ideal candidate will also have:

  • Ability to keep clear and concise records.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work on own and within multi-cultural teams.
  • Excellent computer skills (to include experience in computerised finance processes) and ability/preparedness to quickly learn new systems and software.
  • Ability to plan with good organizational skills, including prioritisation and ability to work under pressure.
  • Initiative and ability to follow up on issues.
  • Good written and spoken English & National language
  • Computer knowledge, MS word and excel
  • Experience within INGOs and UN agencies is an asset.
  • Carry out tasks within guidelines laid down by managers / supervisor
