BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DIVISION
WFP Security identifies, assesses, and manages all security risks that affect personnel, assets or programme delivery. As a key actor in the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS), we leverage partnerships, digital innovation, and local resources within a clear framework of accountability.
The Security Division is seeking to fill one intern position in its Front Office. The objective of the Security Division’s internship program is to develop and prepare young talent by providing opportunities for the candidates to gain workplace experience, expand knowledge, refine career goals, and build professional networks, including mentors and valuable contacts. The intern will learn to work in a dynamic security team supporting the division in the areas of information management, knowledge management and communication.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Security Division invites qualified candidates to apply for the internship program. Opportunity is available in the Division's Front Office, in the communications team.
The intern will perform the following duties:
• Help in preparing, reviewing, and editing official documents, concepts notes ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Attend and summarize meetings, as requested.
• Assist in developing calendars, searching, classifying, and organizing Security communications materials in the appropriate corporate platforms.
• Review communications products such as reports, manuals, guidelines, presentations, and intranet content, ensuring a high level of consistency, accuracy, and alignment to corporate platforms for various audiences, in collaboration of the Security Division communications team
• Assist in creating content for internal engagement (short posts for digital platforms, Yammer, online events).
• Fulfil other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
To qualify for an internship with the World Food Programme (WFP), the applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate programme from a recognized university OR recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) from a recognized university;
- University course attendance in the past 12 months
- Be computer literate in standard software applications
- Excellent command of English; Working knowledge of a second UN language would be an asset.

At the end of the assignment, the Intern should:
- Understand WFP and the contribution we make to saving lives and changing lives.
- Understand the contribution of Security Division to achieving that mandate through its different functions of operations, policy and enabling and the front office.
- Demonstrate experience working in teams, drafting, and reviewing communication documents.
- Learnt and been immersed in the work environment and demonstrated ability to collaborate with others.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
- Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$1000 per month depending on the duty station of assignment.
- WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
- WFP will reimburse travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country.
- WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education.
- Candidates who bear any of the following relations to WFP staff members are not eligible to apply: sons, daughters, brothers or sisters.
