Organizational Context and Scope

Under the overall supervision of the Chief Migration Health Officer for the Country Office (CO) in Amman and direct supervision of Senior Nurse, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties and responsibilities:

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Providing childcare to refugee children during Health screenings for resettlement.
  • Promoting an atmosphere of active learning in the childcare room and developing appropriate activities for children.
  • Safekeeping of Nursery material.
  • General cleaning of childcare room, supervise the CO floor cleaning to include daily vacuuming, wiping down desks and removal of garbage.
  • Ensure Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) in children area in coordination with cleaners.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Nurse.

Education & Experience:

  • Diploma in Childcare and/or completion of high school certificate with two years of relevant childcare experience.
  • Experience planning and preparing healthy meals and snacks.
  • First aid training background is an advantage.

Skills & Technical:

  • A caring and compassionate attitude when interacting with and caring for children.
  • Excellent patience and stamina for keeping up with the demands of children of all ages.
  • Advanced multitasking and organizational skills to handle multiple children at a time.

Languages:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written in Arabic.
  • Basic knowledge of English.
