Energy Advisor
The “Energy efficient Water Sector” Project in Jordan is seeking an “Energy Advisor” – for full-time base employment as per the below job profile.
Qualifications and specialist knowledge
BSc in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Energy Engineering or any area related to energy management.
- 5-7 years of proven knowledge and experience in implementing Energy Management System (EnMS) as per ISO 50001.
- Proven experience in energy audits, measurement and verification, and energy engineering analysis.
- Knowledge in Energy Efficiency aspects in water pumping facilities and water systems.
- Good Experience in writing reports and using excel sheets (English and Arabic).
- Very good communication skills.
- Fluent written and oral knowledge of Arabic and English.
Main activities
- Support water sector (WAJ and Water Supply Companies, WSCs) in implementing Energy Management System (EnMS) as per ISO 50001.
- Support Water Supply Companies in energy planning activities, including Energy Review, identification of Energy Saving Opportunities, establishing Energy Baselines, Identification of Energy Performance Indicators (EnPIs), action planning, and Monitoring & Evaluation of energy performance in water facilities.
- Support WAJ Energy Unit in aggregating Energy Saving Opportunities identified in all Water Supply Companies (WSCs)
- Support WAJ Energy Unit in preparing the energy efficiency action plans.
- Support WAJ and WSCs in updating and improving the EnMS documents and tools related to energy planning, action planning and Monitoring & Evaluation.
- Provide technical advisory to maintain the EnMS in the water sector that meets the requirements of ISO 50001, and track performance improvements
- Support building of capacitating different target groups to adapt the system and use it in daily work, i.e., operation and maintenance
Core tasks
In your role you are responsible for the technical, substantive and organisational implementation of a project’s measures and activities. In consultation with your line manager, you also assume tasks related to planning, steering and monitoring the project, including project administration tasks in some cases. You are also responsible for providing specialist support to colleagues in bands 2 and 3, and ensure the quality of the commission’s outcomes.
In addition you contribute to the conceptual design of the project, in particular its modification or realignment.
You make technical and substantive contributions to overarching issues in cooperation with commissioning parties/clients, partners and other actors and thereby support the achievement of the agreed objectives of the respective project and provide impetus for further strategy development.
In coordination with the country director and your line manager, you also use your contacts for the acquisition of contracts on behalf of the company.
In consultation with your team colleagues and line manager, you also coordinate all issues within your area of work and ensure that they are dealt with promptly and competently. You resolve problems that arise in your area of responsibility on the basis of existing rules and draw attention to more complex challenges in your team.
You are involved in ongoing process development within your remit, are responsible for knowledge management and prepare and share documentation. If required, you also support other experts in familiarising themselves with and performing their tasks.
You perform the tasks assigned to you by your line manager, where required.
