Context
The staff-care psychologist is in charge of providing psychosocial support to field teams (MSF & partner staff) in the MENA (Arabic speaking colleagues) region, with a focus to North West Syria missions according to MSF principles, standards and procedures and in order to improve the staff mental health.
MSF is currently running different projects with support of facilities (burning units, maternities, PHCCs) and mobile clinics activity in North West Syria. All projects support the provision of quality care, through partnership with local organization/DoH. The psychological support will be provided on request to the staff of the partners MSF is supporting in the different Health Facilities.
Main Responsibilities
- Responding to the request an organizing the psycho support sessions
- Carrying out evaluation of mental health needs of staff and establishing a diagnosis and a plan of treatment.
- Providing psychological support and psychotherapy sessions (individual, group) to staff according to MSF protocols in order to improve their mental health conditions
- Increase the understanding of stress management of staff, managers and leaders within the organizations (stress definition, reactions, consequences, confidentiality, identification of troubled or at-risk people)
- Assisting and training staff members and resourceful people whenever necessary in order to promote the services and contribute to fighting against MH stigma
- Collecting statistical and monitoring data about psychological support activities and produce regular and ad hoc reports if needed
- Informing the supervisor and the medical team about any issues or problems that may arise related to staff treatment and/or staff behavior-suffering that may be work-related in order to provide the best possible solution from a medical perspective
- Ensuring that all patient information is kept confidential
- Support the teams in case of critical incidents with eventual field visit
Requirements
- Licensed clinical psychologists only
- Minimum 5 years of experience with 3 years in the humanitarian field
- Staff care background experience
Professional competences:

Contract
- Part-time position 50%
- 6 months Jordanian Contract, with possibility of extension
- Position based in Amman, home-based, with regular visits to the field and MSF Offices
- Ideal start date: ASAP
- Gross monthly salary: 1’067.5 JOD (+ seniority in MSF) according to the internal regulations and salary grid of MSF in Amman
