Fleet dispatchers have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

• Communicating with drivers about their current location, estimated time of arrival at the next destination, and any delays that may occur
• Monitoring traffic patterns and adjusting dispatch routes as needed to ensure efficient delivery of goods
• Maintaining records for all shipments, including pickup and delivery times and locations, shipping methods, and carriers used
• Ensuring safety by monitoring driver behavior and adherence to safety policies, as well as maintaining driver logs
• Communicating with dispatch supervisors regarding issues that may require immediate attention such as accidents or breakdowns
• Preparing reports on daily activities and statistics to managers
