Clerk to the Board of Governors
The International Community School (ICS), one of the longest established and most successful international non proprietary schools in the Middle East is seeking to recruit a part-time (2.5 days per week including evenings) Clerk to the Board of Governors to join our school.
The successful candidate is expected to coordinate Board meetings and Board subcommittee meetings, provide procedural and follow up on legal regulations and guidance with relevant lawyers and ministries, work with Board members to prepare and circulate agendas, take minutes, handle correspondence, coordinate meetings, work with Board on Board Archiving and Board recruitment materials and prepare for Board training and meetings in addition to coordinating appeal panels and hearings while working with sensitive and confidential information.
The Clerk to the Board of Governors is part of the school administration team and is managed by the Chair of Governors.
Skills
Candidates should:
● Hold a Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Management Sciences
● Have substantial experience of working in clerking or secretarial role
● Have experience of taking formal / professional minutes
● Have experience of working in a school is desirable
● Have knowledge and understanding of safeguarding
● Have strong written and verbal Arabic and English communication
● Demonstrable resilience and interpersonal skills
● Have effective personal organization skills
● Be inclusive and have a collaborative approach
● Have strong IT skills (including Word, Excel, and google doc).
● Be a person of integrity; able to maintain confidentiality; able to remain impartial; have a flexible approach to working hours; be sympathetic to the needs of others; have an openness to learning and change; have a positive attitude to personal development and training;
● Have a Jordanian nationality
