Assistant Laundry Manager

Qualification Requirements

  • Three to five years’ experience in a hotel related environment or relevant supervisory experience.
  • High school or equivalent, a hospitality degree is preferable, however, not essential if applicants have previous relevant work experience.
  • Solid knowledge of managing laundry department.
  • Attention to details including grooming.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good Command in Arabic and English languages.

Job Functions

  • To assure that all rooms and F&B linen, guest clothing and employee uniforms are cleaned in a timely and cost efficient manner.
  • To oversee all aspects of the laundry/valet department including interviewing, training and conducting performance evaluations and disciplines staff when needed.
  • To develop the daily production schedules, Develops daily production schedules, assesses priorities for each type of linen that needs to be laundered.
  • To assign staff to complete the activities needed for the day.
  • To assist in monitoring and controls all expenses and maintenance costs and assures that financial goals are being met.
  • To ensure that processing quality standards are met and takes proper action with our third party linen vendor when any quality concern arises.
  • To coordinate with the outsource laundry in terms of delivery, receiving, billing, quality and maintaining an excellent level of cleanliness.
  • To ensure communications and follow-up on any glitch, guest requests or special requirements.
  • To resolve the guests glitches, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
  • Responds to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner. Interaction with guests will be in person and by phone.
  • Coordinates monthly Linen inventories for Rooms, SPA and F&B departments. Compile data and purchase orders to maintain adequate par levels.
  • Conduct periodic Uniform inventories for all uniforms in the hotel. Compile data and purchase orders to maintain adequate par levels.
  • Conduct Valet/Laundry supplies Inventories, and order supplies as needed.
  • Assures that equipment is properly maintained with the assistance of the Engineering team.
  • Ensure all transactions are reconciled with proper approvals and endorsements.
  • Takes action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction and well-being of hotel guests and employees. Includes wearing proper PPE (gloves, masks, and goggles) while handling used linen, cloths and Towels.
  • Responds swiftly and effectively in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
