Role Purpose:
The Finance Analyst is responsible for business analysis on the areas of gross profit, working capital, and business modelling. The role holder is also responsible for ensuring management consolidation, management reports and financial projections reflect the company performance and current and projected financial standing through the review of quality of this information.
Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Financial Reporting
- Assist in creating management reports on the financial planning process through constantly updated and properly managed reporting software and tools
- Ensure that management consolidation and management reports reflect the company performance and financial standing through the review of quality of this information
- Provide financial analysis of the actual business performance and financial plans particularly in the area of funding and cash flow
Financial Planning
- Provide support to other departments of Head Offices for all matters related to management reporting and financial planning
- Support finance teams in new countries during the pre-opening phase in the area of management reporting and planning
- Propose and implement action plans in order to increase productivity, performance and effectiveness of the operations
Business Analysis and Communication
Perform business analysis under supervision and leading of Financial Controller in the areas of:
- Operations and merchandise
- New projects
- Business modelling
- Report any action that might interfere with the proper functioning of the company
- Support the Financial Controller in business presentations, communication with the countries, ad hoc analysis
- Support Financial Control Department in monthly presentation preparation and review
Budget Related
- Monitor performance against budget, – ensure compliance and proposes corrective measures when necessary
- Coordinate the monthly management closing, forecasting, budgeting and strategic plan process
- Assist in monitoring allocated budget to ensure compliance and highlight possible issues
- Provide inputs on cost reduction measures
Human Capital Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and seek professional development opportunities to improve leadership and technical skills pertaining to the direct line of work
- Apply and follow MAF Retail’s Human Capital corporate policies and relevant procedures and instructions
- Provide training and feedback to direct reportees when required
Personal Characteristics and Required Background:
Minimum Qualifications/education
· Bachelor Degree Finance or Commerce
Minimum experience
· 2-3 years in a similar function
