ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

WFP is globally known for its ability to deliver food assistance rapidly to people in need. However, to continue responding effectively in challenging contexts while also contributing to longer-term efforts to end hunger, WFP is also committed to analyze the particular needs, capacities, vulnerabilities, priorities and strengths of the affected populations. The AAP Programme Associate will directly contribute to ensure WFP has sound accountability systems in place.

Within the framework of its new Country Strategic Plan (CSP 2023-2027), WFP Jordan has decided to strategically invest on AAP and enhance its internal and external processes. In this regard, the AAP Programme Associate will support WFP Jordan to overall improve the mainstreaming and integration of AAP and community engagement (CE) elements into all programmes and operations, based on WFP policies and guidelines.

JOB PURPOSE

In particular, under the direct supervision of the AAP Officer, the AAP Programme Associate will focus on promoting AAP / CE approaches across programmes, supporting the Communication with Communities (CwC) campaigns, conducting CE initiatives jointly with Field Offices, and acting as AAP Unit’s primary focal point for case management.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1. Provide AAP / CE technical support in the implementation of WFP's activities in Jordan, with a focus on ensuring that the needs and preferences of affected populations are taken into account.
2. Work in close collaboration with relevant WFP Units, as well as with external partners, to promote AAP in all aspects of WFP's work.
3. Support the AAP Officer in building knowledge on AAP and do-no-harm principles through conducting different types of AAP trainings for CFM staff, field monitors and programme staff as well as Cooperating Partners.
4. Ensure AAP aspects are taken into consideration during assessment, planning, implementation and monitoring in all CO activities and programmes.
5. Conduct regular consultations and engagement activities with affected populations on WFP's areas of operation.
6. Support in preparing thematic and/or operational sensitization plan and drafting all communications with communities’ materials for affected populations.
7. Assist in the collection, analysis and use of data and information on affected populations to inform decision-making and program design.
8. Document the results, lessons learnt, best practices of AAP, CFM and CE in an effort to improve WFP Jordan’s learning process and knowledge capitalization.
9. Act as primary focal point for case management for all the CFM tickets reaching WFP and ensure a timely and effective resolution within pre-defined timeframes.
10. Coordinate with relevant WFP staff and Cooperating Partners on issues related to case management, CwC and CE.
11. Manage WFP Jordan Country office’s Facebook page in coordination with the Communication Unit.
12. Perform other related duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area.

Experience:

• At least 6 years in relevant working experience
• Desired experience on programme support (CFM, AAP) in a humanitarian organization and operational implementation.
• Experience with communication with communities, handling complaints, identifying issues, and passing issues on to third parties to resolve as part of a complaints feedback mechanism, would be a plus.
Language: Fluency in oral and written communication in Arabic and intermediate level in English.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Proficiency in Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• General knowledge of WFP’s mandate, activities and AAP policies.
• Knowledge of work routines and methods in order to complete processes under minimal supervision.
• Ability to work independent and take initiative
• Experience working with refugees.
• Excellent communication skills
