Summary:

Data Architects closely with the Data Modellor, Business Architects, Enterprise Architect as well as the Business Change and the business SMEs, ensuring data architecture and data models that are scalable and meet business, technical and commercial requirement
Work collaboratively with the leadership, stakeholders and the business (projects, business units, wider entities) to understand, collate, and document the strategic requirements of Data Architecture and lead the efforts ensuring sound portfolios of work but also addressing emerging demand to establish Conceptual and Logical Data Models that are actionable

What You’ll Be Doing :

Develop, manage, and enhance the Enterprise Data Model and repository
Whilst expert at Enterprise Data Architecture, discerning strategy and operating model design will also be strong in at least two other domains: Business, Application, Infrastructure or security.
Facilitate the establishment and execution of the roadmap and vision for information delivery and management; including the enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI & analytics, content management and data management.
Ability to do data modelling from logical to physical data model across different approaches based on the requirements.
Lead data architects and data engineers to architect and deliver the solutions that fulfil the Business information needs and align with the information vision and strategy
Apply business strategy while driving technology strategy, balancing short term and long term needs to ensure that the architecture can scale and evolve accordingly
Engage an end-to-end approach by connecting all the pieces of data to deliver the data while leveraging all available assets
Provide advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures to ensure schedule attainment, product development process adherence, and performance and budget targets are met
Take an active role in the performance management process by completing goal setting, interim review, and year-end review on a timely basis and soliciting ongoing feedback
Create High level/detailed Solution Design and Logical Data Models
Assist the Project Manager with the Project Backlog(s), features and high level user stories.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring :

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
Extensive experience in architecting and implementing enterprise data warehouse, Master data Management, data integration, BI & analytics, content management and data management platforms
Experience of creating and implementing data strategies that align with business objectives.
Expert in domain driven architecture and decentralised implementation of data architecture
Strong knowledge of industry best practices around data architecture in both cloud based and on prem solutions.
A comprehensive understanding of data warehousing and data transformation (extract, transform and load) processes and the supporting technologies such as Amazon Glue, EMR, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, other analytics products
Excellent problem solving and data modelling skills (logical, physical, sematic and integration models) including normalisation, OLAP / OLTP principles and entity relationship analysis
Experience of mapping key Enterprise data entities to business capabilities and applications
A strong knowledge of horizontal data lineage from source to output

Excellent communication and presentational skills, confident and methodical approach, and able to work within a team environment

Skills and Experience:

Good awareness or experience in Design & Construction, appreciation of Operations & Maintenance
Minimum ten years of progressive information management solutions and end-to-end development life-cycle support and SDLC processes
Minimum eight years leading a team including architects, engineers, quality assurance, and operations professionals
Experience of modelling data across different approaches using tope down or bottom up
Established experience delivering information management solutions to large numbers of end users
Demonstrated understanding of enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI & analytics, content management and data management
Experience with two or more vendors in any of the following areas including; SQL Server, Oracle 11g, MySQL, SQL Data Warehouse Appliance, Synapse, Oracle Exadata, SAP and other Analytics Vendors with BI components.
experience architecting NoSQL databases is a plus.
