ABOUT THE ICRC
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We act in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.
PURPOSE OF THE POST
The Regional Support Officer provides second-level user support for ERP (JD Edwards) and related applications within a given functional and geographical area.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures that timely and appropriate second-level support is provided to users of JD Edwards and related applications.
- Ensures that unsolved or complex issues are referred to third-level support staff with the detailed analysis of the issues and the explanation what caused it and how it can be reproduced.
- Contributes to creating a shared knowledge base, implementing best practices and standardization of the processes.
- Ensures data and information consistency on supported sites.
- Contribution and participation in ERP related projects and testing campaigns
- Supports deployments of ERP and additional functionalities for new sites
- Organize and provide training for key users and new logisticians.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Understands and adheres to the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and the ICRC Code of Conduct.
- Represents the ICRC in a professional manner at all times.
- Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC.
- Takes responsibility for their own professional learning and development.
- The employee may be asked to perform additional duties and tasks as well as to provide support to other departments when necessary.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERINCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Professional degree preferably in supply chain management, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or judged equivalent
- 3 -5 years’ experience in an ERP system implementation, user support or supply chain processes
- Good knowledge of an ERP system in a Logistics process flows (e.g. Oracle JD Edwards is a PLUS)
- Strong analytical skills and proven capability to solve medium to complex system issues
- Excellent in English (professional oral & written)
- Ability to work and collaborate as part of a local and international team environments
- Customer and solution oriented
- Good communication skills
- Experience in conducting user-training on Information systems is a PLUS
- Software testing experience is a PLUS
- Strong analytical skills
