Senior Accountant
Under the responsibility of the Director of Administration & Finance, to whom he / she will report, the Senior Accountant will have the following responsibilities in the Amman office.
Prepares financial reports and manages payroll. Responsible for setting up and managing GFRA accounting and financial control systems and ensuring that adequate and appropriate internal controls are in place to meet Tetra Tech ARD accounting standards. Oversees bookkeeping. Processes financial transactions including data entry, payments, and banking using QuickBooks. Maintains accounts in compliance with USAID and Tetra Tech requirements and regulations. Reconciles cash accounts in QuickBooks and prepares monthly reconciliation reports for home office. Prepares monthly financial records for submission and shipment to home office. Ensuring all transactions supporting documents are complete and properly filed. Implement USAID mechanism for VAT regularization. Manages the bank account. Monitors cash flow and prepares funds requests. Assists in tracking expenses against budget line items. Reconciles vendor payments, processes travel expense reports, and ensures that outstanding cash advances for travel are reconciled. Supervises the accountant.
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide assistance with balance sheets, tax calculations, and financial statement information.
- Facilitate a smooth yearly audit process through an independent evaluator by providing accurate transactions and balances of the company.
- Formulate general ledger and closing reports by imputing in-depth details of the firm's transactions.
- Publish financial statements in time.
- Ensure arrant guidance and regulation by implementing financial policies in every facet of the company's fiscal activities.
Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or relevant discipline and minimum 5 years in relevant field or 8 years’ experience of relevant work. Prefer a minimum of 5 years of financial management and auditing experience on donor-funded programs, preferably previous experience with USAID. Demonstrated direct supervisory experience. Demonstrated accounting software, preferably QuickBooks, skills are required.
