Roles and responsibilities:
The purpose of the Support technical assistant position is to provide administrative or technical support in a specialist areas of work, either support functions or Core Competences. The Technical assistant vary from the assistant position by providing a range of support within their area of expertise e.g. ICLA case workers, technical advice and monitoring for implementing partners or constructions companies. Use actions words such as conduct or assist for the position relevant responsibilities.
Generic responsibilities :
1. Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
2. Assist a range of support with the implementation of the CC portfolio according to plan of action
3. Implements independently procedures and activities within own function or core competency as delegated
4. Responsible for organising and delivery of tasks in line with priorities and standards
5. Develop and maintain knowledge of the specialist area of work in which technical assistance and support is being provided, in order to be most effective in supporting the team
6. Use initiative in day to day problem solving in line with agreed procedures, priorities and standards for the area of work
7. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
8. Ensure proper filing of documents 9. Promote and share ideas for improvement in your area of expertise
9. Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards &
principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC
Specific responsibilities
- Sourcing appropriate suppliers in the local market for the procurement of goods & services for a certain category and based on the specification provided by requesters.
- Prepare Purchase Orders and send copies to suppliers, follow up on the arrival of the shipments to ensure that orders/ goods meet specifications.
- Liaise with support staff and programs staff to ensure timely delivery of procured goods and services.
- Ensure paper and electronic records are maintained in a systematic manner in line with NRC's standard procurement procedures, providing a clear auditable trail.
- Establish and maintain good professional working relationships with suppliers and contractors whilst strictly adhering to NRC's anti-corruption guidelines and NRC's code of conduct.
- Assist the Logistics Team Leader/Logistics Officer in conducting a regular market survey.
- Any other tasks assigned by the line manager
