At AWS, we are hiring an Energy Industry Specialist (IS) to deliver transformational solutions to AWS Energy customers.
We are looking for an experienced enterprise level consultant with skills including business and technical enterprise architecture and expertise in ML/AI/IOT/Cloud solutions for the Energy Industry. They combine relevant Energy (Oil & Gas / Power & Utilities / Renewables) industry and technical leadership experience plus exceptional people skills. They are fast learners and serve as trusted advisors for our customer's business executives, enterprise architects, and IT leaders.
The IS will advise on and deliver digital transformation solutions to improve our customers business operations and create new markets by advising and deploying AWS Cloud services. The IS brings insight and experience of our customers business with subject matter expertise in multiple Energy industry segments like Exploration, Production, Refining, Generation, Networks, Retail, Trading, etc. Working backwards from our customers business objectives, our AWS IS and consultants deliver enterprise IT/Cloud infrastructure architecture guidance, lead innovative projects to deliver or accelerate business outcomes, undertake discovery workshops and assessments at an enterprise or functional level, support customers to implement best practice cloud solutions, and ensure well-architected solutions are delivered. They collaborate with multiple AWS and partner engineering teams to introduce and refine new cloud services for the largest enterprises. They work closely with CxO and Director level customers to provide strategies for migrating existing solutions and building new solutions using the full range of AWS services. The team will harvest, package and publish best practices and repeatable offerings to AWS customers and partners to accelerate their transition to an AWS cloud based IT model.
Key job responsibilities
- Engage customers – bring insight and experience in solving challenges and creating opportunities for customers across multiple Energy industry segments. Collaborate with account sales leaders and engineering teams to drive design wins and AWS platform adoption for Energy customers.
- Deliver value – lead high quality delivery of a variety of business and technical engagements with partners and customers, enabling breakthrough business outcomes for customers.
- Provide leadership and insights on Energy industry segments and IT disciplines such as AWS architectures, cloud operations optimization, AWS migrations, security, and the integration of AWS services to support Energy customer global requirements. Combine this knowledge to provide leadership on industry solutions development in areas such as Reservoir Management, Asset Management, Production/ Generation Optimisation, Equipment Health / Predictive Maintenance, Supply Chain/Logistics, etc.
- Develop partnerships – proactively develop industry solution maps for Energy customers engaging the leading solution and service providers. Drive collaboration and integration between multiple partners to deliver comprehensive solutions for large enterprises.
- Learn and mentor – work with the global AWS Professional Services and Global Account leadership teams to assist in interviewing, training, and enabling AWS customer facing teams to deliver value to Energy customers. Support them in harvesting and publishing best practices to broader field and partner teams.
- Make new markets – develop the industry offerings to drive design wins on the AWS platform and open new market segments for AWS cloud-based services in the Energy industry.
- Be a customer advocate – work with AWS engineering service teams to convey deep technical requirements from partners and customers as input to AWS technology roadmaps.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years of experience leading cross functional industry and technical consulting teams to deliver innovative solutions and development of cloud offerings.
- Experience delivering business and technology transformations to Energy customers across the value chain by scoping, executing pre-sales, and delivering consulting services.
- Customer relationship management experience and collaboration skills.
- Experience leveraging ML/AI concepts and / or IoT deployments and associated technologies to provide architecture, adoption, and solution deployment engagements to an Energy industry customer base.
- International sales and delivery experience w/ global Fortune 500 enterprise customers and partners. Direct experience with Middle Eastern NOCs preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Visible IT Industry thought leadership on topics relevant to cloud-based enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Use of AWS Cloud as an enterprise digital and business platform.
- Experience with cloud computing change management challenges and solutions.
- Familiarity with Energy industry (Oil & Gas, Power & Utility, Renewables) compliance & security standards.
- BS level degree or several years of experience in computer science, engineering, Energy business, and / or ML/AI/IOT background preferred.
- Fluent English and one or more additional Middle Eastern or European languages.
