RedR Australia manages Australia Assists, the Australian Government’s humanitarian civilian deployment program, deploying technical specialists to help partners prepare for, respond to and recover from natural disasters and conflict globally. RedR Australia recruits, trains and deploys experts worldwide and is the only United Nations Standby Partner headquartered in the southern hemisphere. RedR is also internationally recognised as a provider of quality humanitarian training.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Report to: Regional Manager
Duration: 12 months (3 months’ probation) with the possibility of extension
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Completed secondary, technical and/or university education.
Work Experience
At least 2-3 years’ experience working in emergency management, or within the humanitarian and/or development sector, or in a private sector (e.g. administrative) role with comparable complexity. Experience liaising with Government Ministries, particularly regulatory authorities.
Skills/Competencies
- Excellent relationship management and influencing skills across a complex array of stakeholder groups, locally and regionally.
- A demonstrated interest in humanitarian affairs and/or the Middle East region and a demonstrated capacity to engage sensitively with people from different cultural groups, as well as diplomatically with international partners including foreign governments.
- An ability to travel internationally, as required.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and capacity and interest in learning new technical systems as needed.
- Professional integrity, tact and diplomacy.
- Excellent planning, organisational and coordination skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including excellent team player.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Strong service/client orientation skills.
- Utmost discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Good sense of judgement.
Language
Fluency in both English (primary working language of this role) and Arabic.
