PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Finance Assistant will support the Finance Department in ensuring all finance procedures are in line with donor and project requirements, ensure accuracy in entering financial records into the accounting system and archive all hard copy and electronic documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Check and verify source documents such as invoices and receipts in line with the approval matrix and financial procedures.
• Record financial transactions to the accounting software.
• Ensure all entries into the accounting system are accurate and documented correctly.
• Follow up on payroll and tax related issues with the local audit firm.
• Organise and archive all financial records.
• Track and maintain inventory records.
• Follow up on pending accounting and finance issues.
• Other administrative & financial duties as needed.

Requirements
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• 2+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Mature individual with attention to detail, able to work independently and under stressful conditions and to tight deadlines.
• Effective communicator, analytical thinker, active learner and team player.
• Demonstrate ability to maintain focus in performing responsibilities assigned.
• Strong knowledge of computer applications, especially, MS word, Excel and Outlook.
• High degree of flexibility and adaptability.
• Fluent in English.
