Role Profile:

  1. The Business Governance Manager will lead the Business Governance function to ensure governance and efficiency in the use of various Phoenix solutions
  2. This role will also oversee all the management and execution of administrative tasks for the solutions coming out from Phoenix projects
  3. The Business Governance Manager will be accountable to continuously seek opportunities and provide advice to the business for improvements

Below are the responsibilities of a Business Governance Manager but not limited to:

  1. Provide managerial support to the Business Governance Specialists in governing and controlling the way the solution is being used through cross referencing with system setting and business process to avoid/minimise any form of singularity of way-of-working across difference brands
  2. Provide managerial support to the Business Governance Specialists in working with the brand to ensure that a data and information on products are maintained according to the standards set for Alshaya
  3. Overseeing and managing all Business Governance tasks in buying and merchandising facing solutions performed by Business Governance Specialist
  4. Keeping up to date on current buying and merchandising processes and ways of working and accountable to ensure that the Business Governance Specialists are updated with the latest training
  5. Oversee and review the execution and maintenance of system attributes and creation of rules to help the brand use Phoenix solutions as intended
  6. Lead, provide input and review requests from the brands for solution enhancement
  7. Provide consultative insights and recommendations to the brand on functionality and improvements to further support the brand improve their way of working
  8. Become the overall point of escalation for the Business Governance Specialist for any issues faced by the business related to Phoenix solutions
  9. Overseeing the governance of system attributes and creation of rules to help the brand use Phoenix solutions as intended
  10. Seek opportunities for process/system improvements and/or to cluster, centralize or de-centralize activities for the purpose of business improvements for Alshaya
  11. Accountable for the performance of weekly and daily data validation to ensure standardisation and quality of data flows across various function in Alshaya

Qualification and experience:

  • Relevant bachelor's degree, with retail experience is crucial
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant managerial / leadership role
  • Minimum 2 years at Senior Merchandiser or Senior Buyer level and/or comparable role to Business Governance Specialist

Skills and competencies

  • Proven skills to lead a team
  • Ability to collaborate, engage and partner with internal stakeholders by building effective relationships,
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (including good written and verbal English)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills strong aptitude with numbers retail math skills, understanding of forecasting methodology
  • Customer Service driven with strong commercial awareness
