Sr. Estimation/Contracts Engineer (Pre & Post Contract)
Job Description
Role:
Manages all activities related to Estimation, contractual and Commercial issues related to:
Contracts with Clients, Sub-Contractors and Vendors
Risk review process including, identification, mitigation and management of contractual risks; during pre-qualification and bidding stage, award of the contract and execution
Managing the procurement and commercial management of all pre and post-contract stages of the project
Prepares, drafts, reviews, evaluates and amends contract terms & legal notices and related correspondences and communications.
Should be able to take key decisions on drafting, formulation, negotiation and conclusion of Contracts, Partnership and other Agreements during the pre-qualification and tendering stage.
Managing project cost and commercial functions ensuring that all project reporting, cash flow, budgets and forecasts comply with the client requirements.
Analyzing claims and identifying merit/validity, managing disputes, managing commercial interface/reporting with client and other parties Analysis and valuations of work done.
Liaison with the project management team to resolve all contract issues and facilitate negotiation of client contract terms and conditions.
Identifies legal issues and risks in the contracts and legal documents with a view to assessment of risk and preventing legal / financial exposure.
Reviews, markups and proposes changes and amendments to the contracts and legal documents. Ensures contract documents have been executed properly and consistently with Organization's policies.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in QS / Contract Management or related field.
Min. 5-8 years experience in Estimation, Contract Administration with high rise building construction companies in UAE
Knowledge in FIDIC type contracts, astute knowledge in Claims and EOTs and substantiations of claims, extensive experience in contracts with clients/employers, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.,
Excellent writing skills and communication skills.
Proven experience in analyzing contract variations and claims is mandatory.
Ability to negotiate complex, or sensitive issues with clients and ability to work independently and under pressure
Experience in estimation, tendering, finalization, administration and management of Contracts and in finalization of various Partnership Agreements.
Have considerable knowledge of business development, contract law, contract management, financial management of projects, project controls, risk management principles, excellent experience reviewing, amending and negotiating insurances and bonds during pre-qualification, bidding and pre-award stage.
