Job Description
Manage the continuous flow of material (while maintaining the Inventory plan, meeting the Sales target (Distribution) and increasing the service levels) through communication and coordination with different teams, maintain win – win relationship with the customers and suppliers, resolve demand and supply issues, planning and identifying gaps and efficient inventory management.
Strategic:
• Identify strategic initiatives for Supply Chain and contribute to the overall strategic initiatives for Procurement aligned to the Organization Strategy
• Drive the strategic initiatives for Supply chain. Monitor performance against the set KPIs
Financial
• Prepare and monitor adherence to the budget for Supply chain. Analyse deviations and take corrective course of action
• Liaise with suppliers to schedule deliveries to be received as and when required to maximise cost reduction / saving and reduce storage costs where possible
Operational
• Supervise all activities related to inventory life cycle (direct purchase and consignment) and evaluate procurement processes
• Inventory reporting and monitoring; stock levels, in-transit, transactions, discrepancies, etc.
• Collate inputs from end user departments to determine order quantity and prepare order forecasts
• Review inventory ageing, inventory cost, re-order points and inventory replenishment.
• Monitor optimum stock levels and rate of return on Batelco’s inventory investment. Ensure that requisite approvals are received for re-orders and validate purchase requisition (PR) with plan / budget
• Liaise with Legal & Regulatory team on all legal issues arising from contracts and ensure smooth coordination and sharing of responsibilities
• Advise on Stores & Logistics issues and risks related to projects
• Develop, plan, manage, lead and control the supply chain, warehouse and logistics agreements
• Lead interactions with suppliers for delivery of items and monitor adherence to processes and fair practices, while protecting Batelco’s reputation at all times
• Monitor delivery of goods as per purchase order requirements and supervise interactions with suppliers to resolve queries related to outstanding orders
• Supervise receipt of items at warehouse / yard and investigate and liaise with suppliers to resolve escalations on quality of products. Monitor application of preventive measures for future deliveries
• Lead interactions with suppliers and ensure the expedited delivery of items, PO and Invoice for commercial products
• Monitor the daily perpetual stock take in accordance with the annual plan to maintain an accurate updated stock
• Supervise monthly stock count for items to determine closing stock. Monitor stock discrepancies and devise solutions to minimize the same
• Monitor availability, reservation and issue of items in warehouse / yards within requisite timelines in line with business requirements to enhance user satisfaction, and to ensure continuity of provision of quality products in a timely manner and cost-effective manner
• Manage all stores operations, ensure the optimum utilization of resources, ensure that standards of safety and security are maintained
• Assist users and Legal department in Supplier performance disputes as an escalation point of contact. Analyse, negotiate and resolve disputes with Suppliers
• Supervise processes for inbound logistics. Review details of items / measurements / delivery requirements from internal department and determine criteria for selecting Third Party Logistics provider (3PL): Delivery time, clearance time, geographies/areas serving.
• Monitor the process of 3PL selection and partner with selected 3PL
• Lead interactions with 3PL to ensure timely clearance from customs and expedited delivery to different locations
• Ensure verification of proof of delivery from receiving area, 3PL and end user department in order to release Purchase order (PO) and subsequently release 3PL invoice to finance for processing payment
• Supervise processes for reverse logistics for warranty and after sales support
• Monitor adherence to procedures and controls at each Procurement process, such that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost effective service to internal customers
• Identify opportunities and redesign policies, processes, systems / structural programs and procedures for continuous improvement, covering all individual Functional activities
• Provide services & awareness to various stakeholders about stores & logistics strategies & activities
• Monitor information provided to employees for creating awareness about warehouse and logistics and addressing queries related to functional area
• Present the Warehouse & Logistics recommendation to the top management, as and when required
People
• Liaise with the HR team for closing hiring requirements and ensure that the team is adequately staffed as per business requirements
• Identify training needs and nominate team members for training programs
• Ensure timely completion of PMR process for self and the department
• Continuously share the knowledge and understanding of the telecom industry and business trends
• Ensure active participation in employee engagement surveys
Skills
Profile 1

Bachelors’ degree holder in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field. • 5-10 years’ experience in supply chain management/retail/procurement/FMCG operation environment
• >3 years in Inventory Management
• Sound knowledge of international trade and commerce, market structure and contract law.
• English language spoken and written skills.
Optional:
• Arabic language spoken and written skills. • Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply / Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport
Profile 2
• Master degree holder in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field. • 4-7 years’ experience in supply chain management/retail/procurement/FMCG operation environment
• >3 years in Inventory Management
• Sound knowledge of international trade and commerce, market structure and contract law.
• English language spoken and written skills.
Optional:
• Arabic language spoken and written skills. • Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply / Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport
