Samford University's School of the Arts Division of Music invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian university environment to apply for the position of Assistant Professor of Voice, beginning August 2023. This tenure-track full-time faculty position is a 9-month appointment.
The School of the Arts is a community of artists working together in music, theatre and dance, and visual arts and design. The Division of Music, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music since 1956, offers the following degrees: bachelor of music (instrumental, vocal, piano, and organ performance, music and worship, composition, piano performance and pedagogy), bachelor of music education (vocal-choral, instrumental), bachelor of arts in music, commercial music, and worship leadership (commercial music includes concentrations in business, music production, songwriting, and performance), bachelor of science in music, master of music (church music, piano performance and pedagogy, vocal performance, instrumental performance) and master of music education.

Qualifications
Qualified candidates are required to have an earned doctorate in the discipline of music or a master's degree and exceptional professional experience, though an earned doctorate is preferred. Candidates are required to have evidence of successful college/university teaching; expertise in teaching classical, musical theatre, and contemporary vocal styles; and a commitment to the university's Christian mission.
Salary is dependent upon academic qualifications, professional experience, and previous academic teaching experiences. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States, as Samford will not sponsor any employment visas for this position. Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include teaching applied voice to undergraduate and graduate students; maintaining national prominence as a teacher/performer; fulfilling teaching assignments in related areas; maintaining creative/scholarly and service contributions for a faculty member; and actively recruiting students to the University. A commitment to academic excellence and the ability to work effectively with faculty, students and colleagues is expected. The candidate should embrace the mission and vision of Samford University, the School of the Arts and the Division of Music.
