Job Title
The incumbent is responsible for implementing and using RM methods, processes, tools in one or several hotel (s) (maximum 4) in order to maximize the turnover. Can also act as an Assistant RM of a Director of Revenue (hotel) in a strategic hotel
What you will be doing:
This position’s responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Support the hotel Management (or the Director of Revenue) to define the hotel strategy (in terms of business mix and pricing by season and type of day) for the future periods – the initial annual forecast
- Analyze the hotel(s) results and performance (average rates, occupancy rates, RevPAR.). Survey the market and competitors in terms of performance (RevPAR Index, market penetration…), pricing and availability as a basis for future tactical decisions with the Hotel(s) GMs.
- Ensure an accurate and dynamic forecast for the future dates (by room and revenue by segment and day) based on the RM referenced systems recommendations and a daily monitoring of the data (portfolio, booking pick-up, events and calendar events).
- Take daily decisions to optimize the hotel turnover. Decisions in terms of pricing, inventory management (RMLs open/close), group quotation, distribution channels… Ensure that his recommendations are implemented in reservation and reception, and that systems (PMS, TARS, RMS) are updated accordingly.
- Ensure that a “RM culture” is spread in the hotel, through the animation of weekly yield meetings (gathering the GM and the key hotel managers) and regular coaching and training sessions for the hotel teams

Revenue analysis is a challenging job that is highly rewarding for those who possess the right skill set. A revenue analyst is a type of accountant. Like all accountants, revenue analysts should be good with numbers. For most positions in the industry, advanced math skills, such as high-level calculus, are not required. However, a revenue analyst should be quantitatively inclined and in no way intimidated by math.
Attention to detail is paramount for a revenue analyst. The job entails working with large data sets and it is easy to get confused. Even tiny mistakes in the analysis process can lead to misguided conclusions, which render an analyst's financial reports inaccurate. This can result in management making bad decisions based on faulty data.
Though accountants carry a stereotype of introversion and solitude, people skills are vital for a revenue analyst. Most of them work in teams. They eventually come together to compile their findings into one unified report, particularly at large companies where revenue analysts specialize. Moreover, a common career path for a revenue analyst is to start as a team member and then be promoted to team leader. Even with strong technical skills and numerical proficiency, making that jump is difficult without good people skills.
