ICM & CONNECTIVITY MANAGER
Cardiac Rhythm Management – Emerging Markets
Job purpose
Working without appreciable supervision, the ICM & Connectivity Manager is responsible for sales and marketing activities, and for providing expert clinical consultation, teaching and support on the use of the assigned franchise and its appropriate application in the clinical setting within the dedicated specialty and region.
The ICM & Connectivity Manager is also expected to provide consulting to customers on the complete assigned product line. Provides field support for accurate technical support/ troubleshooting, and strategic collaboration with Distributor Sales staff to develop business in the local territory. Works within a small team atmosphere, including Distributor Sales Reps, their respective Regional Management, and Product Division personnel to develop individual account and territory sales strategies; performs training and other related logistics coordination and gathers market/customer related feedback to ensure annual operating objectives attained.
The ICM & Connectivity manager participates in the sales and marketing process and is responsible for ensuring all new accounts are established in accordance with Abbott educational and in-service specific objectives and that ongoing product utilization is encouraged when necessary or requested through in-lab support and consultation with the physician and other lab support personnel. May mentors less experienced Field Clinical Specialists (FCS) and provides leadership in the FCS disciplines within the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve growth targets in assigned geography and focus on key priorities to achieve growth
- Executes marketing strategies through collaboration, planning and influence and ensure achievement growth and profit objectives.
- Works cross-functionally to develop, target and measure training-based initiatives such as Multi-Physician Education programs, peer-to-peer education, fellows training, training on appropriate product use in new standards of care
- Define and execute in alignment with Emerging Markets marketing, strategies and tactics to ensure market penetration in existing accounts and total market growth. (Increase access therapy)
- Responsible for direct interaction with KOLs and the research community to support company initiatives within the Emerging Market region. Responsible to maintain and further develop local and international KOL Electrophysiologists & Cardiologists relations
- Organization and attendance of national and regional scientific events (meetings, conferences and symposium). Cooperates in the organization of scientific meetings, sponsored or fully organized by ABT CRM. Contracts and assists speakers.
- Introduce products to new markets and develop existing ones
- Maximize revenue opportunity through demonstrated consultative selling of a broad range of assigned products
- Provide formal in-service/education to clinicians and provide technical support during implant procedures
- Demonstrates a thorough command of related product and technical knowledge
- Coordinates all necessary logistics related to hospital training for new accounts
- Takes a leadership role in ensuring that region integrates appropriately with the Product Division marketing plan
- Initiates, develops, expands, and maintains excellent customer rapport and relationships
- Initiates new training courses, while keeping a clinically based "consultative approach" the primary goal
- Exhibits sound business sense and logic when utilizing assigned expense budgets, and suggesting alternatives to normal Abbott policy when strategizing to accomplish goals
- Participates in on-site procedure observations to ensure new product evaluations are successful, utilization is encouraged, customer and personal technical knowledge is enhanced, and customer rapport is developed.
- Provides timely and comprehensive market information to management as requested
- Provides prompt, professional, and pertinent follow-up (written or otherwise as required) in response to all customer interactions to insure our existing customer base is maintained and new customers are developed
- Fosters creativity within the region by implementing new and enterprising approaches to the job
- Functions as a “pipeline” between Abbott, distributor network and the Medical Community, constantly communicating important information to customers, among colleagues and to other departments (product planning, engineering, marketing and education). This includes providing Product feedback, comments and suggestions and Competitive information to the Product Planning and Marketing groups
- Remains current on developments in field(s) of expertise, regulatory requirements, a comprehensive knowledge of the company's products, markets, and objectives as well as industry trends. Proactively develops business and management skills. Develops and maintains “cutting edge” expertise across the entire field of assigned product franchise, including clinical and product expertise and deep familiarity with professional literature
- Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements
- Complies with regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
- Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, distributor, customers, contractors, and vendors
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned
Qualifications, Critical Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Biomedical technology or related field is preferred. Preference for advanced credentials in a relevant discipline/concentration, Professional Health Science certification or designation.
- Strong business acumen and results oriented
- Fluent English (Arabic & French are a plus), able to communicate clearly with physicians and presenting clinical evidence data
- Strong character, able to control implant procedure of new technologies in cathlab in the presence of group of physicians
- Good clinical experience in cathlab
- Having previous experience in Cardiac Rhythm Management
- Regional and multi-country experience in the medical device field
- Ability to work in a highly matrix and geographically diverse business environment
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
- Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
- Willingness to travel 50-60% of the time
