Public Financial Management and Administration Activity (PFMA)

Location:

PFMA Amman Office

Background:

The Jordan Public Financial Management Activity (PFMA) aims to work in partnership with USAID/Jordan and the Government of Jordan (GOJ) to improve Jordan’s revenue system and enhance their budget management process. PFMA will build the capacity of the Jordanian Ministry of Finance and other government institutions to modernize the revenue collection system, encourage compliance—including making it easier for taxpayers to comply with tax obligations—upgrade public procurement management, and improve budget planning, preparation, and execution. Key objectives include: 1) improving the revenue raising system; 2) streamlining the budget management process; 3) optimizing public expenditure management; and 4) implementing crosscutting Public Financial Management reforms such as interventions to address COVID-19. Through a combination of technical assistance, capacity building, and facilitation, tangible and measurable results are expected during the anticipated five-year duration of the activity.

Objectives:

The IT Intern will be responsible for working with Revenue Management IT advisor and provide support on IT related activities.

Responsibilities:

The It Intern will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Follow up on all IT implementation activities
  • Attend meetings with counterparts and IT vendors, and document the discussions and the next steps
  • Support and follow up on the implementation of One Stop Shop
  • Follow up on project plans with IT vendors
  • Attend IT training sessions and ensure proper implementation and compliance
  • Develop progress reports
  • Support the implementation of all IT related activities
  • Organize for meetings and meetings logistics

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in in computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems or any related field
  • Experience working with international NGOs or donors or with USAID-funded projects (preferred).
  • Verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize competing demands. Detailed and deadline oriented.
  • Possesses diplomacy, tact, and negotiating skills. Strong team player with a positive attitude. Flexible under pressure and in response to changing needs.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products.
  • Good Knowledge of Software Development technologies is a plus
  • Good Knowledge of Hardware and networking is a plus.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English.
