PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF POSITION
- To assist the IT Manager for the operation of all data systems and communication systems in the hotel, including point of sales, Front Office, Back Office, Door Lock systems, Telecommunication, Word processing, data connections, Internet PC networks etc. to maintain an optimal state of operating efficiency.
- All work is carried out in-line with the hotel’s guidelines and business plan.
- Assist the IT Manager in the operation of all data systems and communication systems in the Hotel.
PROFESSIONAL TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software
· Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system
· Be familiar with all hardware and software
· Be familiar with network operating system
· Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources
b. Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access
· Troubleshoot all technology issues
· Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
· Make recommendations about purchase of technology resources
· Research current and potential resources and services
· Provide network access to all staff and students
· Install work stations
· Connect and set up hardware
· Load all required software
· Provide network accounts and passwords as required
· Monitor security of all technology
· Install and maintain Foolproof and passwords
· Input and maintain IP addresses
· Advise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status
· Ensure installation of lock out programs
· Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate
· Ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal
c. Perform other related duties as required during working hours
4. GENERIC RESPONSIBILITIES
4.1. CUSTOMER FOCUS
· Selects and develops strategies to improve guest service and efficiency
· Utilizes leadership skills and motivation to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction
· Monitors hotel’s overall service and team work daily, and makes recommendations for improvement to Department Heads
· Creates a positive hotel image in every interaction.
4.2. HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
· Develops and recommends appropriate training to meet guest and internal needs
· Checks that own staff meets and exceeds expectations by training and encouraging staff to live the Symphony Style EIDOS culture
· Identifies training needs
· Makes sure staff receive skills training to provide consistent, reliable service
4.3. EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
· Encourages, develops and manages effective employee relations throughout the hotel.
· Establishes and maintains effective internal communications, including daily meetings with own staff to ensure optimum team work and productivity.
· Looks for ways to motivate and challenge employees.
· Sustainable Business: shows involvement and is interested in environmental and/or social issues by participating in Sustainable Business hotel- and departmental activities.
4.4. FINANCIAL
· Implement necessary actions to increase profitability (increasing revenue and/ or reducing wastages).
· Continuously works to improve overall hotel performance.
· Prepare, manage and achieve the department’s budget pertaining to costs.
4.5. LAWS, REGULATIONS AND POLICIES
· Follows the Rezidor Hotel Group corporate guidelines as well as Symphony Style Hotel brand standards and service concepts which represent the basis for all business encounters.
· Ensures all job activities are carried out in line with the hotel’s policies and procedures and in accordance with the departmental business plan.
Follows all applicable laws and ensures that staffs comply with those laws.
4.6. HEALTH AND SAFETY
· Anticipates possible hazards and conditions and corrects them or takes action to prevent them from occuring.
· Ensures that all potential and actual hazards are reduced immediately.
· Fully understands the hotel’s Health and Safety-, Fire-, Emergency-, and Bomb Threat procedures.
· Ensures that own staff works in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others.
· Stimulates and encourages a general awareness of health and safety when performing tasks and activities.
· Ensures that emergency procedures are practiced and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees.
· Fosters an atmosphere of continuous learning and improvement.
· Ensures that the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct of hotel employees is maintained by self and own staff
· Ensures the safety of the people and property within the premises by applying hotel regulations and adhering to existing laws and regulations.
4.7. MISCELLANEOUS
· Attends meetings and trainings as required.
· Assists colleagues to perform similar or related jobs when necessary
· Ensures guest satisfaction by attending to their requests and inquires courteously and efficiently
· Accepts flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests
· Maintains own working area, materials and company property clean, tidy and in good condition

Education/ Qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Hotel operations (management level).
- Should be having networking experience, Windows server experience.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar position
- Background in 5 star segment preferred
- Hotel Opening experience an advantage
- Middle East and boutique hotel experience preferred
1. Technical- and Language Skills
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office, PMS, 3rd party extranet sites and ERP applications.
- Language skills: English and minimum one additional language such as Arabic, Italian, or local language.
