Job Description

Providing recommendations on how to implement or improve data governance policies and procedures

Creating data governance plans that outline policies, procedures, and standards for data management

Reviewing existing data governance programs to identify opportunities for improvement

Providing guidance on the selection of technologies to support data governance efforts such as data dictionaries and metadata repositories

Recommending policies and procedures for data security, retention, and disposal

Facilitating workshops to educate staff about best practices for data management

Explaining concepts related to data governance to non-technical staff in a way that is easy to understand

Conducting research and producing reports on topics related to data governance such as trends in data usage, data security breaches, and emerging technologies
