ROLE PURPOSE: Project Officer under Supervision of Technical Project Manager will be responsible for; the management and the proper implementation of the 9-month Pilot Child Marriage Project Activities. The project activities will be implemented in close coordination with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and one community-based organization (CBO) in Irbid. The project aims to retain Girls at risk of Child Marriage in school and to empower school staff to recognize and respond to Girls at risk of Child Marriage and raise the awareness of communities about marriage under the age of 18 and its consequences.He/she will plan, execute, coordinates and monitors the activities and he/she is responsible for a qualitative and regular reporting on various components of the project.
The Project Officer technical support required in developing SOPs, Training Guideline, Providing Guidance and Quality Check related to: Early Marriage, Child Labor, Case Management, Partnership and Soft Skills training. The Project Officer will liaise with and advise PDQ team in coordination with the Project Manager concerning relevant technical or quality issues associated with the programme in order to facilitate any necessary changes in programming design.
SCOPE OF ROLE:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Support the delivery of effective programmes, in development contexts in stressed communities.
- Provide overall supervision to all activities (CBO activities, MoE staff trainings and activities)
implemented in the area of operation.
- Identify the needs, design and follow-up the capacity-building program dedicated to the Partners, while ensuring that SCJ training selection criteria are applied
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of activities implemented in the targeted area to ensure they are completed according to plan and in a timely and effective manner, giving particular attention to quality aspects.
- Working closely with PDQ staff in coordination with the project manager in order to ensure the quality of the programme activities.
- Working closely in coordination with the logistic team to ensure all purchase and supply requests related to the activities implemented inlocal communities are done on time and according to SCJ procedures
- Documenting in a timely manner, all progress challenges, and learning for future implementation
- Leading assessment in the operational area for all the interventions.
- Conducting regular field visits to the MoE schools and local partners to verify quality /progress of all projects interventions and to provide operational and technical guidance and advice.
- Monitor budget / expenditure and report variances to the project manager in a timely manner for proper planning, reporting and adjustment.
- Assist in the preparation of work plans, reports and other project or management materials
- Provide timely and quality inputs for donor/member reporting
- Provide MEAL department with project data as required by project MEAL plan
- Participate in the humanitarian response led by SCJ in all operational and thematic areas.
- Any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Bachelor Degree in social work/business administration or related field
- Substantial 3- 5 years’ Child Protection experience preferably in child marriage sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to build capacities of local partners, caregivers and/ or teachers and work with underprivileged communities
- Proven technical skills with effective personal communication skills
- Training of trainers Is a plus
- Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, provide support and guidance for the staff
- Strong communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills in English and Arabic
- Ability and willingness to travel within Jordan.
