Basic Eligibility Criteria:
A. Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme (for example, Bachelor’s degree) from a recognised university and have completed at least two years of the programme. Candidates should have attended classes in the past 12 months; OR
B. Be currently enrolled in a graduate programme (for example, a master’s degree) from a recognised university and have attended classes in the past 12 months; OR
C. Be a recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) from a recognised university and have attended classes in the last 12 months of enrolment in the university; AND
D. Be fluent in English. Fluency in other WFP official and working languages is always an asset and may be an additional requirement at some duty stations; AND
E. Be fit to travel to, and work at, the duty station of the internship; AND
F. Not be sons, daughters, brothers or sisters of WFP employees; AND
G. The Programme will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education
Accountabilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Senior solution developer, the Software Developer intern will perform the following tasks:

Support technical and architectural decisions to ensure that the product is delivered efficiently and with clearly explained technical rationale

Develop and deliver high-quality code, under the supervision of the lead developer

Proactively collaborate with the other team members as well as with the business users of the project

Build detailed project plants and timelines, including deliverables and milestones

Create the easy-to-read documentation of end-users as well as for support hand-over

Customize, implement, and validate corporate solutions for the Lebanon office

Engage with business users on their needs to document and implement change requests and resolve issues

Perform any other task as required
Desired skills and knowledge:

Currently enrolled in a university programme, or recently graduated (within the past twelve months) in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, computer engineering or Information Technology

Knowledge in Python or PHP

An understanding of REST API fundamental

Knowledge in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript (or TypeScript)

Understanding of code versioning tools (such as git)

Familiarity with design and architectural patterns
