POSITION SUMMARY:
The M&E Assistant will work closely with the Project Manager and MEL Coordinator to perform the highest data collection standards for the PROTEKT project. With a focus on quantitative and qualitative data, the incumbent will diligently adhere to the project's M&E framework, including dynamic components such as the Logframe, Indicators Tracking Table, and M&E tools implementation plan. Adept at interpreting and analyzing data, the M&E Assistant will communicate their findings through comprehensive reports enriched with written and visual components. This role will significantly contribute to evidence-based decision-making and reinforce a culture of accountability and transparency within the organization.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABLITY
Data Collection Tool Design
- Work with personnel from project implementation team to design data collection tools in line with project M&E plan and logframe, under the direct supervision of the MEL coordinator, and make sure new tools are properly rolled out in a timely manner.
- Build quantitative data collection tools on KoBo Toolbox.
Data Collection and Analysis
- Support the assessment of the project impact by collect feedback from beneficiaries through surveys and/or Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and/or Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), either directly or through the project team personnel and report findings to MEL Coordinator.
- Perform both quantitative and qualitative data analysis to interpret the collected data, and report results to MEL coordinator with an emphasis on the visual component.
- Maintain proper project monitoring by conducting verification calls, field visits, Post Distribution Monitoring (PDMs) etc, and flag any concerns to MEL Coordinator.
Data Management
- Manage the KoBoToolbox and GoogleDocs back-end, by making sure data is centralized in a manner consistent with the logic of the project.
- Perform periodic data cleaning to ensure data quality.
- Manage the beneficiary database in collaboration with the project officer and make sure it’s up to date on a weekly basis.
- Create and update the project’s Indicator Tracking Table, and link it with all beneficiaries’ databases.
- Support production of reports to share with project implementation teams and external stakeholders.
- Maintain organized digital and hard copies of all M&E related files and supporting documentation through a well-organized filling system for all tools and reports developed and collected by the MEL department.
Data Collection Gadgets Maintenance
- Ensure data collection tablets are charged before use.
- Monitor the stock in/out with the project team as required.
- Update software tools on all tablets.
Learning
- Support the implementation and documentation of operational learning.
- Other tasks and duties as needs arise in the MEL unit.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree and field experience dealing with data collection, management and analysis
Or
- Diploma degree and field experience dealing with data collection, management and analysis
EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
- University degree – At least one year of M&E experience in a development or humanitarian setting with a particular focus on data collection using ICT tools
- Diploma degree – At Least Two years of M&E experience in a development or humanitarian setting with a particular focus on data collection using ICT tools
- Working knowledge of principles of results-oriented monitoring and evaluation.
- Experience using research methods with mixed-methods data collection and analysis skills.
- Native Arabic speaker, with proficient English writing and speaking skills.
- Ability to analyze quantitative data in Excel or similar software.
- Experience using ICT data collection tools such as KoBo Toolbox
- Legally permitted to work in Jordan.
