Often, RI is the only organization providing healthcare, education, logistics, energy, capacity building, economic development, sanitation, and many other forms of assistance to these highly vulnerable communities.
Position Summary:
The Camp Coordination Officer will be responsible for promoting RI’s work with all stakeholders and participants in the camp making known its mission, vision, and operational objectives.
The Camp Coordination Officer is responsible to provide efficient support to project implementation in Azraq Field Office. It will predominantly include cooperation with all local stakeholders and partners, serving as the primary point of contact for RI with participants. The Camp Coordination Officer, through cooperation and with the support of technical and other field staff, will contribute towards assessments, selection of participants for all RI projects in the field office; support for the delivery of humanitarian aid, and support for monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of these activities.
The Camp Coordination Officer will also facilitate information flow between field office staff, local authorities, community participants, and other relevant stakeholders, as appropriate. Moreover, the Camp Coordination Officer will contribute to enhancing community acceptance and expanding the access area of operation in Azraq.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Management
- Responsible for providing effective and efficient support to field-based staff in implementing RI projects, in close coordination and collaboration with the Project Coordinator
- Responsible for providing timely and methodical updates regarding the context, needs, and trends to the Project Coordinator.
- Responsible for budget management at field office level, in line with the approved authorization table and ensuring appropriate burn-rates are maintained and that solutions to over/under expenditure are applied.
- Support the field-based staff, by reporting on potential conflicts of interest, fraud, protection concerns, and any other effects related to RI’s assistance.
- Support dedicated RI safety and security staff in information collection and sharing to ensure the safety of RI staff and participants.
- Ensure security guidelines and security risk assessments are implemented and regularly updated for all project locations.
- Closely monitor the field implementation and ensure the quality programming in timely.
Safety and Security:
- Support dedicated RI safety and security staff in information collection and sharing to ensure the safety of RI staff and participants.
- Ensure all new team members are adequately briefed on arrival in the field and departing team members are debriefed.
- Ensure security guidelines and security risk assessments are implemented and regularly updated for all project locations.
- In charge of producing weekly and monthly reports, flash reports, and any other reports as requested by the Project Coordinator
- Responsible for attending meetings and coordination for, representing RI strictly within the limit set out by the Project Coordinator.
Program Development:
- Closely monitor the field implementation and ensure quality programming along with timely completion of the project's deliverable.
- Support multi-sectoral emergency preparedness and response as required by the context and management.
Human Resource and Administration Management:
- Plan staff requirements and, as agreed with the Project Coordinator liaise with HR department for support.
- Responsible for appraisals as per RI’s standard requirements and procedures.
- Responsible for facilitating capacity development and training of all personnel. Coordination and Representation:
- for RI with members of the public, beneficiaries, local authorities, I/NGOs, and any other persons or organizations at the field level
- Other program tasks as requested by the Livelihoods Project Coordinator
Safeguarding and conduct
- Uphold and promote RI’s commitment to ensuring the safeguarding and safety of the vulnerable communities we serve.
- Consistent with RI’s safeguarding and protection policies, contribute to ensuring that all those who come into contact with Relief International staff and the communities we serve can be trusted to work safely with them.
- Support and develop systems that create and maintain an environment that prevents sexual exploitation and abuse and promotes the implementation of the Code of Conduct and safeguarding policies.
- Work collaboratively with the Global Safeguarding Manager to advocate for the inclusion of safeguarding activities and resources within the program.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of donor requirements of safeguarding standards and protection from exploitation and abuse.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in social science, Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, and Business Management.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a humanitarian and/or recovery context
- Knowledge of the context in Azraq camp.
- Experience in context analysis and humanitarian needs assessment, project monitoring and evaluation, and program development.
- Experience in coordination and representation, including with local authorities, I/NGOs, and communities.
- Experience as Security or Safeguarding Focal Point desirable.
- Technical background experience in Livelihoods, Protection, and Food Security is desirable.
- Ability to build relationships quickly with a wide range of people, both internally and externally.
- Strong ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.
- Excellent English communication skills and Arabic proficiency are essential.
