BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF ASSIGNMENT
The Logistics Services Market Assessment is intended to help WFP Eswatini understand and evaluate the supply chain services markets with a focus on the Logistics in which the organization launches Requests for Quotations (FRQs) for transport and associated logistics services. The Logistics Services Market Assessment (hereafter "LSMA") will increase WFP's knowledge of local market conditions to contract transport and associated logistics services in the most cost-efficient manner. A comprehensive LSMA should be conducted at least once every three years for all markets in which transport and associated logistics services are currently, or are anticipated to be, contracted. WFP Eswatini seeks the services of a competent and professional Research Analyst to structure, analyze and prepare WFP Eswatini LSMA report using gathered data and other effective research methodologies..
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Logistics and overall supervision by the Head of Office, the Consultant – Logistics Services Market Assessment (LSMA) Research Analyst will be required to:
1. Conduct desk review of policies and other guiding frameworks at the national level as well as institutional levels on Eswatini Logistics context.
2. Structure and analyze LSMA data; prepare an inception report
3. Develop Standard Operating Procedures – Code of conduct on Supply Chain market development and management, for private sector, civil society organizations and non-state actors.
4. Analyze data gaps, identify evidence based relevant approaches; engage all relevant stakeholders for effective reporting, buy-in and inputs into the LSMA final report.
DELIVERABLES
Deliverables based on the above, the consultant will prepare and complete the following:
> Inception report
> LSMA draft and final report
> Standard Operating Procedure for Supply Chain Market Development and Management
> Final PowerPoint presentation slides of the contents of the SOPs and Code of Conduct for capacity building (ppt. format)
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Advanced University degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Business Management, Economics, Transport.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years in the relevant areas: market research, supply chain strategy development or equivalent.
Language: English and Siswati language
