Shelter Project Manager Jordan Irbid Host Area
Job purpose:
The Shelter Project Manager will be responsible for the oversight and implementation of the NRC shelter portfolio at Jordan Irbid Host Area by planning and managing several shelter units, ensuring the workflow is adequate, meeting deadlines and targets and developing with the team proper planning of activities for her/his teams. In addition, the Project Manager should support and backstop any delay and provide direct support to the team in any of the assigned tasks.

What you will do:
- Contribute to the development of Country, Area and Core Competency (CC) strategies, and initiate and participate in the development of Shelter projects.
- Coordinate and manage Shelter project implementation (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements.
- Provide technical direction to the project staff and ensure high technical quality of projects.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Area Manager and the CC Specialist.
- Develop and manage project budget (in cooperation with the Finance team) and coordinate across CCs.
- Line manage project staff, their performance as well as ensure their capacities are built and that there is transfer key skills.
- Promote the rights of Refugees in line with the advocacy strategy.
- Directly responsible for the planning, implementation and monitoring of assigned activities in line with Shelter strategy and country standards.
- Ensure strong coordination and collaboration with all shelter stakeholders at the field level, partners as well as camp management.
- Actively coordinate to ensure strong reporting and coordination.
- Identify implementation challenges and opportunities and propose solutions for any potential bottlenecks in the process.
- Develop Shelter budgets, and monitor expenditures. Meet on regular basis with the Finance team to review budget versus actual expenditure for all projects and donors' funding activities.
- Ensuring project progress is documented, integrating sound M&E procedures in all aspects of the shelter project.
Professional Competencies and Qualifications Required
These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil engineering/Architect.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in project management in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Technical Shelter/WASH urban development expertise
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong budget management skills.
- Proven ability to coordinate with multiple stockholders.
