Category Manager
The category Manager is responsible for coordinating with buyers and supporting purchases. The role holder is also responsible for selecting and examining products that get to store shelves, in catalogues and online.
This Hiring for Kuwait Retail Company – interviews will be in Amman.
We are looking for Assistant Category Manager, Category Manager and Sr. Category Manager for Supermarket, Fresh Food, and Homecenter categories.
Responsibilities
- Implement methods to reduce shortages and overstocking by analysing the data and preparing control strategies.
- Reviewing and attending to/resolving any issues with local suppliers Ensuring timely input to Private Label development and Import purchases Contributing to the company Promotional activities as required .
- Utilize the network to expand the supplier base and attend trade shows to identify new product trends.
- Oversee communication with suppliers on quality-related issues and propose areas of improvement to ensure the best quality products.
- Develop reports on the key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Implement negotiation strategies to secure profitable deals.
- Defining and maintaining the local assortment and integrating the basic assortment for the Department/Categories Pricing the items based on pricing guidelines and recommended prices for PL / imported items
- Research and review new products to meet the company's goals.
- Research and suggest new suppliers with long-term cost savings and quality improvement.
- Engage in sourcing the best quality products for competitive prices aligned with the organization's objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, supply chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration.
- Experience in merchandising, preferably for a leading retailer/FMCG sales experience
- 3-5 years of experience in the same field.
- Good Level of English.
- Strong business communication and presentation skills.
- Financial and analytical skills are plus.
