Islamic Relief Worldwide
Islamic Relief Jordan is a country branch of Islamic Relief Worldwide. Islamic Relief Worldwide is an internationally recognized charity (Charity No.: 328158), looking back on nearly 30 years of experience in humanitarian and developmental aid. It was founded in 1984 in Birmingham, UK, in response to the devastating famine in the Horn of Africa. Since then, Islamic Relief has grown into a charity that is active worldwide, putting development projects, emergency aid, and rebuilding projects into action in over 44 countries around the world.
Islamic Relief Jordan (IRJ) began its operations in 1997 with orphan’s sponsorship, sponsoring hundreds of orphans living in Jordan. IRJ extended its programs to seasonal projects with Ramadan and Qurbani distributions and In-Kind donations. IRJ has established strong partnership with international non-governmental organization and local one’s strengthening the overall response to the Syria crisis. At the onset of Syria humanitarian crisis in late 2011, IRJ provided emergency response to those affected by violence in Syria and has since then scaled up its capacity and operations with number of 70 staff across the country.
IRJ programme department works toward introducing relevant interventions to Jordanians as well as Syrians and Palestinians refugees that would impact their lives and improve their life conditions. IRJ programme act upon IRW mandate and in line with IR-Middle East and Eastern Europe strategy that aims to ensure Safe, dignified and peaceful living conditions for refugees, IDPs and vulnerable groups as well as communities at risk of disasters in the Middle East. IRJ office has expanded with the Syrian crisis in 2011, reaching more than 200,000 refugees by 2013 with an annual income of 35,000,000 GBP.
The department has successfully introduced interventions in a multi-sectors response, being the lead agency responsible for humanitarian assistance in the north of Jordan, reaching more than 240,000 beneficiaries in 2021 and continue providing access to food, health care, cash for shelter and non-food items such as hygiene kits and winterization items in 2021. The programme department is now strategizing the Syrian crisis response in Jordan and working toward a holistic integrated approach with the host community and planning to move toward sustainable development through introducing innovative approaches in education promotion, community development and economic empowerment.
The Livelihood Department of IRJ (International Relief for Jordan) aims to empower vulnerable groups in Jordan through market-sensitive livelihood programming, fostering economic agency, sustainable livelihoods, and inclusive economic growth. Their long-term strategic objectives include increasing economic agency and inclusion, facilitating active participation in the local economy, and advocating for policy changes. They strive to enable sustainable livelihoods, promote income diversification, and incorporate climate-smart practices. Additionally, they work towards enhancing resilience and adaptive capacity, strengthening social protection mechanisms, and promoting gender equality and social inclusion. Through knowledge and skills development, they aim to enhance capacities for sustainable livelihoods and foster a culture of continuous learning.

The post holder will undertake the appropriate level of training and is responsible for ensuring that they understand and work within the safeguarding policies of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Curriculum Design and Development:
Create comprehensive and tailored training curricula to meet the specific needs of our target beneficiaries.
Develop engaging training materials, including presentations, handouts, and interactive activities.
Utilize innovative instructional techniques to maximize learning outcomes.
Training Delivery and Facilitation:
Conduct training sessions for diverse groups, ensuring an interactive and participatory learning environment.
Deliver training modules on entrepreneurship, covering various topics such as business development, financial literacy, and marketing.
Adapt training approaches to accommodate different learning styles and participant backgrounds.
Coaching and Mentoring:
Provide personalized coaching and mentoring support to aspiring entrepreneurs.
Guide participants in developing their business plans, identifying market opportunities, and overcoming challenges.
Foster a supportive and empowering environment to nurture entrepreneurial skills and confidence.
Training Quality Assurance:
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, gathering feedback and implementing improvements.
Conduct assessments and surveys to measure participant impact and satisfaction.
Ensure training compliance with organizational standards and guidelines.
Research and Learning:
Stay updated with the latest trends, best practices, and emerging methodologies in entrepreneurship training.
Conduct research on relevant topics to enhance the content and relevance of training programs.
Share knowledge and insights with the team to contribute to the overall learning culture of the department.
Other:
Fully comply with IRJ safety and security procedures and provide input to security monitoring and assessments to enable and promote a safe and secure environment for program implementation
Provide the lists of beneficiaries and breakdown to the MEAL department.
Any other duties as agreed with the supervisor
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in curriculum design and delivery, with a focus on entrepreneurship and job access skills.
- Prior experience in NGO sector in general and economic & livelihood projects specifically is highly desirable.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills, empowering individuals to succeed in their entrepreneurial / career growth endeavours.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting research, analyzing data, and incorporating findings into training programs.
- Excellent communication and writing skills in both English and Arabic.
- Passion for promoting entrepreneurship and socioeconomic development.
- Gender preference: Female, to maintain gender balance within the department.
- CIPT, TOT and other Training certificates specifically is highly desirable.
