JOB PURPOSE
Analysis the Global & Local supply chain to the major markets & Secondary markets for value chains and propose supply chain optimization mechanism.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
• Analyze how the market system is functioning from end to end of the supply chain. Through information gathering, identify all stakeholders of the supply chain, their role and the cost related from their activities.
• Closely monitor the markets to Identify the inefficiencies throughout the supply chain based on the value equation. (Quality, availability, price, and assortment)
• Based on the corporate tools, design a new supply chain mechanism to eliminate the inefficiencies and optimize the value chain.
• Liaises with Internal and external stakeholders to pilot the new supply chain in each location and measure the added value obtained.
• Coordinate with Contracted retailers in implementing the new supply chain mechanism to their Retail outlets.
• Monitor performances of retailers, scaling up of shops and modify the supply chain to specific environment.
• Identify & build a Local supply chain network of key informant from (customers, government official, traders, manufacturers, wholesalers, importers, distributors, collectors, transporters etc) and nurture this network on regular basis according to monitoring needs.
• Coordinate with relevant units on markets and report on the Report to markets insights that may affect the operational continuity.
• Ensure Applied Prices for the beneficiaries remain as competitive as possible according to market trend by collecting production prices, government farmers price baseline, wholesale, and retail prices.
• Monitor the Performance of Contracted retailers.
• Oversight and supervision of retail management, monitoring and reporting as per established systems.
• Assist in the effective planning and management of Retail warehouse operations, to ensure safe and efficient warehousing and storage of all commodities and supplies.
• Coordinate the receipt/dispatch of Retail commodities, to ensure accurate recording, accounting, and reporting is always available to support decision-making.
• In accordance with established procedures, thoroughly verify any Market information for clarity and correctness before sharing with relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure that accurate Emergency stock records are always maintained; ensure that clean and correct data captured from the retailers’ documents such as Physical inventories, stack Cards
• Perform other related duties as and when required.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: First Degree in Business Administration/Management, Economics, Supply Chain, Finance or related areas.
WORK EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five (5) years of experience including three (3) years in Retail or Business Management at managerial level in the Private sector. Experience in humanitarian Cash Interventions is desirable.
LANGUAGE : Proficiency in both oral and written communication skills in English (Level C) and Bangla is required
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
• A good understanding of the retail and supply chain operation mechanism through a proven successful working experience.
• Proven successful experience as a purchase officer in private sector/or social enterprises.
• Prior experience creating innovative market-based strategies and leading their implementation in challenging contexts.
• Good understanding of agricultural market systems and supply chain end to end.
• Experience in product pricing and contracting with processors/ retailers.
• Experience in conducting negotiations with suppliers, manufacturers.
• Exceptionally strong project management and analytical skills. (Good command of P&L analysis is a real plus)
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills to ensure programme and management alignment
• High level of empathy in the communication skills.
• Excellent oral and written presentation skills and good computer skills in business software (Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint).
• Fluency in Bengali is a must. Good command of English is also a must.
