ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The position will be based at Tripoli Country Office and reporting to Head of Research Assessments & Monitoring. At this level job holder is expected to take responsibility for completion of a range of processes and activities related to monitoring that require some interpretation of standard guidelines/practices.
Job holders are able to provide effective specialized support and technical analyses to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs. They work under minimum supervision, perform basic analyses and compile reports to support information consistency and smooth implementation of programmes/projects.
JOB PURPOSE
To perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Provide analytical support in food security monitoring and assessments and produce timely reports.
- Assist in the development and implementation of food security monitoring activities and processes in alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
- Prepare a range of reports and data analysis (e.g. food assistance needs, resource utilization, programme status, performance) and highlight trends/issues ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standards and quality control.
- Ensure and/or perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g. assistance programmes, food security and vulnerability assessments) and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
- Conduct geographical analysis of food security indicators using ArcGIS and other mapping tools.
- Participate and contribute to food security and vulnerabilities assessments and monitoring activities.
- Liaise with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities.
- Coordinate and communicate with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions to perform accurate food security analyses and to ensure efficient delivery of food assistance.
- Support the capacity building of WFP staff, cooperating partners and national government within the specific technical area.
- Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of operational queries and problems within a specific technical area of responsibility. Oversee and/or review the work of other support staff, providing practical advice and guidance, to contribute to delivering objectives to agreed standards and deadlines.
- Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.
Experience:
Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in programmatic administrative, programming and reporting, including research, assessment and monitoring, or related areas is required. Further, it is desirable to have;
- facilitated communication with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, RAM, etc.).
- contributed to implementation of programmes.
- observed or assisted with policy discussions.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Functional use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint are required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
- Skills to facilitate meetings with partners, including governmental partners, UN partners, civil society organisations and private sector partners, are required.
- Knowledge of UN processes and systems is desirable.
Language:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.
